Err, not sure what topic is more appropriate, and I don't want to start my own :)

In Midnight Tides, Mael at one point states that the ocean is in one form or another Kurald Galain, darkness.. the deep depths of the sea. That got me thinking.. When they speak of darkness, and speak of the light coming, is Erikson quite literally describing the evolution of the world? From the first sea to the dawn of landmasses forming and life beginning. Of course, there are elemental forces at work long before either two are present.

That's a pretty clever theory...but we know that the TA came with the TE through a gate into Wu (what we call the Malazan world), and we actually have some who were alive at that time, so it's obviously not just a creation myth.
