Favorite character in Book One, Paran. Favorite character in series, a tie between Whiskeyjack and Duiker.

I assume I have to choose only from GotM and if so it's:

Anomander Rake
Topper
Tayschrenn
Quick Ben
Whiskeyjack
Lorn

If only one then Rake. I guess......

How does one pick a favorite character when there are so many well defined and likeable ones to choose from? Seeing as the book contains many plots that don't combine until the end i think it will be somewhat easier if i chose a character from each plot line.
Paran is a great character but he doesn't really grow on me until the third book however Toc the Younger is great from the get go. Gotta love him!

I love the dynamic duo of Fiddler and Hedge but then i may be a little influenced by the later books on this one.
Whiskeyjack and Dujek are great men and deserve a respectful mention.
Not paying too much attention to the characters in a moral and ethical way I have to say that Cotillion kicks arse!

Bob...(shakes head)...Hairlock? You did read the book, right? (Psycho, nutcase puppet prat!)

If I had t ochoose one, I would say Kruppe, i think his dialogue offers the most in Gardens of the Moon IMHO, after him probably Quick ben.

On a pure "cool" factor, Anomander Rake is on another levelPosted Image

Oddly enough, Raest. Five dragons beating on him and he just keeps moving. Leaves an impression.

Otherwise, (resisting the impules to list a dozen alternates) Rallick Nom. Beyond badass. His execution of the counselman was just great.

- Abyss, thinks Crokus and Rake were better in later books.

I'm going with Anomander Rake too! Total bad ass. Next in line is Quick Ben -- i'm interested in his "past".

Chosing a favourite is hard. I'm trying to think back before all the other books came out, I reckon originally my favourites were:

Whiskeyjack
Adaephon Ben Delat
Kalam Mekhar

That hasn't really changed that much from now then!

you're obviously already forum-literatePosted Image I can't find one in the GotM forum either, soI'll leave this up... we aint too strictPosted Image

In GotM, I'd say Baruk, though Brood was great too, even if his was a more minor part...

Oh, again I say unto thee - wait until thou gettest unto Memories of Ice. It hath much on ye Ben of Quick! Sorry I must be winding you up a lot here - MOI has loads on the history of Bridgeburners, and HOC has loads on the history of the empire, how it started etc. Bet you're itching to get there eh?
BTW Icarium, in DG he is an awesome character and we still don't know much about him...

If I remember my first read correctly, i have to pick Quick. Just for the way he played Shadowthrone.

I also had a lot of problems with the name Whiskeyjack. Nearly made me want to put the book back on the shelf... What a mistake that would have been.

Thats true that he can outsmart Gods, a neat trick in any case, but I think he has 12 warrens.

Sorry I'm just being annoying now. Both Anomander and QB are my favourites so I totally agree with you!
