Did he really die?

Somehow I am having doubts with the death of Truth. If you see how fast Stormy could regenerate in the Imperial Warren, and given their immunity to fire and probably plague, I somehow suspect he isn't that dead in the first place. Did you guys maybe found some hints on his deadness.

he jumped into the fire with pretty heavy explosives connected to him. A tyrant could not recist such a blast, why should truth?

Also Baudin burned to death. and he actually states that he thought he was immune to fire but was wrong. i think Truth is dead though not neccesarily out of the series

truth should be dead.... he can heal quickly but unless he has the ability to refenerate from pieces then hes dead....
being blown to pieces really do **** up your healing properties

It was strongly suggested that while he was immune to fire, the exploding cussers were a whole other thing. Interesting tho', as Truth was really a c-list character since he showed up in DG. The big death came nearly out of nowhere, and still impacted (pun intended).
Now that being said, there was a raging fire elemental godling thing burning itself out in the city... one wonders whether, seeking not to die, it might grab a surprisingly resilient body like Truth's... maybe we havn't seen the last of him yet.
- Abyss, gets toasty just thinking about it.

I think he might have ascended or combined with the fire spirit that was formed when Y'Ghatan burned. Given that body-death seems to be a popular final step to ascenscion, we can't rule it out for Truth.

Nice, DM! I think you've nailed it with that theory.

He had almost ascended already, so I think it's highly plausible that he finally ascended with death or the action he took. Either way, it's another one of those what if possibilities that makes SE books so good!
I thought what Baudin said was ambigious. I thought that his comment about being wrong about being immune could have also been read as though he thought that the divers were immune to fire, when it wasn't. Or maybe I'm wrong. I mean Baudin was burnt to hell...

Baudin thought he was immune to fire because he wasn't burned by the flames the dragon blew at them before the bailed out of the Silandah.
Mistake. Because the oil fires he was doused in fighting Gryllen crisped him but good.
Stormy/Gesler/Truth all became stronger, tougher, and apparently didn't need to eat or sleep. And some healing came with the deal as we saw with Stormy's legs in the Imperial Warren.
So Truth has every reason to survive in YGhatan better than anyone else in the squads, but even so, cussers are a whole other thing.
But the fire elemental thing still seems possible.
- Abyss, could make a joke about "pieces of the Truth".

i reakon Truth will come back in somehow... there was way too much mention of him throughout the later part after he 'died'
Maybe he's dead and he'll do a Hedge... but he'll be back im sure
