I tink SE just meant that WJ won't appear in any further books. He is ascended as all the other BB of course.

I hope he (WJ) doesn't come back to life. It'd make his whole death a lot less... tragic. It's fine that he and the rest of the Bridgeburners are ascendants, though.

"Ensign Truth: dialogue styles are decided by the publisher. I'm sure the US edition will tweak the text to conform to standard US formats. As for Whiskeyjack -- no, he will not reappear in this series. May he rest in peace."
So no...he's not coming back in this series. As for an ICE novel...well all things considered all 15 novels were conceived as one big series...so maybe not. but you never know.

I always imagined he might re-appear as an ascendant of some sort. Guess not. Bummer.

I'm experiencing a bittersweet feeling after reading that. It makes his death a lot more tragic now that I know that. There was a little part of me holding on to the smallest spark of hope that he'd make an appearance at some later point in the series, just as Hedge did in The Bonehunters.
