Listening to the latest Hard Luck Hank; Robot Farts. Hilarious. I absolutely love this series. But you have to earbook it as the narrator makes it. Abyss, seriously, you have to try this. You'll thank me later. The first book is pretty good but it just gets better and better from there. Think Pratchett and David Wong set on a space station full of criminals with a mutant bulletproof bruiser as the main character with a mad scientist best friend. It's fantastic. ...

Noted. I see the first ebook is $4 and i can get the earbook for another $2. Good deal.

There are villain PoVs?

And so many creatures!

Yeah, so far I've got one POV who is on the enemy side (at the moment anyways, I can't tell where the story is going to go...but as it stands there is a POV of a person close to the main villain thus far, and another coming up who is a dickhead but possibly not a villain?)

And yeah, I think there are even more creatures yet to be introduced.

Hope you like it. I'm really enjoying it!

Just finished The Last Mortal Bond by Brian Stavely, the third and last book in the Chronicles of the Unhewn Throne series.

If you like Brent Weeks (Lightbringer, Night Angel) or Brian McClellan (Powder Mage) series, you will love this series. It's damn fun, has tons of action, still complex characters, doesn't get bogged down in anything, and is a truly great story told in well sized chunks.

Though it was the last of the original trilogy, he's got a new one coming out SKULLSWORN which will focus on...well, the Skullsworn.

I've not read LMB yet, but it's in my T-Read pile from Xmas, and I'm excited to finish the series. Glad to hear it finishes strong.

Finished Peter Newman's The Malice. Wow.

The goat content is superb, as it was in The Vagrant. The story progresses and I really like that Vesper is the focus, as many years have passed since The Vagrant. Really solid book.

The style of writing is more sparse and not super descriptive or dwelling much on complicated thoughts and monologues. I love it, especially when the action scenes subside into the recovery and "where next" phases. The cover art is also superb for both books. The last book in the trilogy comes out in October.

Been on a good book tear lately. Now for Red Sister. Lawrence even gave the cover blurb for The Malice. As well as for Senlin Ascends too.

333 pages into Shogun (somewhere in chapter 26)

Things are heating up.

Also 142 pages into Wuthering Heights. This is a very strange book. Its so arbitrarily angry and violent. Its like if Hulk wrote a book

Why do the British like Kate Bush so much?

That....does seem to sum up my thoughts on it so far.

Though Heathcliff is more like Amon Amarth gone emo. Angry roaring while staring gloomily into the distance.

Not just the British.

And Kate Bush pushing boundaries in the 70's, 80's and 90's literally informed an entire generation of female vocalists (Tori Amos, Bjork, Ani DiFranco, Shirley Manson, Fiona Apple, Pat Benatar ect.). Even more modern singers like Banks, Tove Lo, Halsey, and Ellie Goulding owe her a debt for doing what she did.

Her discography is also nearly untouchably perfect.

Started Sandman Slim.

ITA, it is the best one yet. I'm re-reading Assail and then I probably will re-read Dancer's Lament as well, just to refresh my memory before Deadhouse Landing is released later this year.
Assail is fine, I wouldn't be reading it again otherwise, but he definitely did raise the bar with DL.

Finished City of Stairs, which was meh to the very end. Now on The Sorcerer of the Wildeeps, which I'm loving every page of. Pity it's just a novella.

Finished up Time of Contempt the second Witcher book and it certainly got better but these books just have a damn hard time to wow me.

Going to take up Bound the most recent Alex Verus novel before going for the next Witcher novel.

Purthin Khaylock is a snobbish, yet incredibly skilled holy warrior who Caine screwed over and hurt multiple times in old adventures.

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
