Saw "Akira" many, many years ago at an Indy cinema with a mate one day when we were bored and it looked OK.
We came out with "rabbit-in-the-headlights" expressions, turned to each other and he said "Did someone slip us some seriously nasty drugs and not tell us?". It was fun though.
I still cannot get over that cat-rabbit thingy in Tenchi that turns into a frickin' HUGE spiky-ass spaceship?!?! WTF is up with that? Those animators are on some incredibly badass drugs. Either that or their bosses subject them to extensive sleep-deprivation ...
There was a Korean movie called "Perfect Day" or something (no, not Perfect Blue, I know that one), which was about the world being so polluted they decided to get their energy from the pollution. Until much later on, the whole world was clean except for one city, who decided to try to pollute the world again, and the people trying to stop them. Very cool story, very well done.
Cheers,

You mean the fillers with the stuffed toy end credits? *shudder*
Wake me when they get back to the manga, please.
Oh, and

Male or female? I think it's male, but others think otherwise. A cookie for the character's name...

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Likely female but he's an awsome character. That's uruhara but we usually call him sandle hat. Yes I meant the stuffed animal things... bunny, turtle and bluebird things... yes *horror*
BWAHAHAHAHAHA..... free cookie for the name of the character (such an easy hint though)
That way you won't owe me a cookie.

Damn you for seeing through my fiendish, cookie-centric plan.. At least I still have the cookie
Illy 1, World 0! Heh heh heh... Have you been keeping up with the manga? I don't want to spoil anything if you haven't...

i think its pretty good, although its been shaky from 63+, and the past few episodes have been, imho, boring

That's because they've gone into filler storylines, eg ones made up by the anime team, to allow the manga to get ahead. Like Naruto, but without 45 episodes of crap until they start the manga episodes, more like 4-5 fillers between a manga chapter.

I've read a bit ahead in the Bleach manga but I've been watching it with some friends and I don't want to ruin it. Like I did with Tsubasa Chroncles...

van of the dawn is an armor pilot (armor being a big ol mech). before the series, van had fallen in love with a women named helena (you learn more bout her during the series) but she was killed by a mysterious man with a claw hand. that kinda pissed van off a bit, so he went on a hunt for this "claw man"
meanwhile, a small town is being terrorized by a gang of thugs whos leader also has an armor. van comes to town and ends up saving the towns people, and particularly a young girl named wendy. wendys brother michael was kidnapped by the claw man, so wendy decides that she too will join van in his quest.
and it kinda goes from there. the first few episodes are a little cliche; van and wendy go to a town, someone in town needs help, they help person, and off they go all the happier. it gets pretty intense around, um, 10 or 11 i think.

I know who Grimjaw is. Some of my friends don't feel as bad about reading ahead and spoiling everything... maybe just one friend.
Has anyone ever watched Last Exile?
