van of the dawn is an armor pilot (armor being a big ol mech). before the series, van had fallen in love with a women named helena (you learn more bout her during the series) but she was killed by a mysterious man with a claw hand. that kinda pissed van off a bit, so he went on a hunt for this "claw man"

meanwhile, a small town is being terrorized by a gang of thugs whos leader also has an armor. van comes to town and ends up saving the towns people, and particularly a young girl named wendy. wendys brother michael was kidnapped by the claw man, so wendy decides that she too will join van in his quest.

and it kinda goes from there. the first few episodes are a little cliche; van and wendy go to a town, someone in town needs help, they help person, and off they go all the happier. it gets pretty intense around, um, 10 or 11 i think.

Hmmm...So the girl wendy goes along with guy "van" and basically terrorizes the innocent world of villainy for a grudge against "claw dude"...

That actually sounds pretty good. Thanks Trotts, you should do reviews for money:D.

seriously though thanks man.

Now we're square Trottsy:D

BTW Has anyone watched "I,my,me strawbwerry eggs?" I found that series to be real twisted. I mean the guy was a girl that liked girls and was liked by guys and then ended up with a girl who confessed lesbian feelings to the woman that was actually a man who was her teacher...

It was...odd.

Full Metal Panic first and second season are very fun, the second season has my preference because of the evolution of Sousuke Sagara (look at the anime and you'll know). The animation is great too and scenarii are just fine.

A good anime, if you're interested in otaku (otaku=geek for the animes and mangas) day-to-day life is Genshiken. Very funny, great scenarri, good animation.

Cowboy Bebop is one of the greatest anime that I was able to see. Great animation, lot of humour, astonishing scenario, lovely characters. One of the greatest, if not the greatest. ;) ;)

By the same team that Cowboy Bebop, Wolf Rain. I don't know much things on this one. But it is fun.

Full Metal Alchemist, may be by the same team that Full Metal Panic, I don't really know. Very good anime, except the, maybe, the ending (:Erm: ).
The animation is fine, scenario interresting, characters fine too.
A film, was made this year, The Shambala Refugees (I am not sure for the Refugees ^^). It's fine, but the characters design was changed a little.

As animation film I recommande you Princess Mononauke, Chihiro's trip (really not sure for this title) and other of the same autor : Hayao Miyazaki.
Lot of great stuff.

The paper version (manga) is very fun, but I think that it become a little self-repetiting after a few times...

Yup, more than a lot. Grat animation, great character (aaaah the captain... ^^), but here too, I find that the end is a little less good than the series...

Hellsing : Great stuff, great music, great character (Alucard fan club ^^)

Vandread : Really funny anime, the characters are cool and fun, but the autors seems to really really really like big boobs...

Is bleach that good? I might get a chance to watch it soon but not sure if its worth the effort...

Trotts said:

i think its pretty good, although its been shaky from 63+, and the past few episodes have been, imho, boring

Beach is fine, but like Trotts say, after the 63, it become boring.
It's because the anime was commencing to reach the same point in the history that the manga (63<=>chap 170 more or less and the manga is up to 217) and in Japan the way of doing is to make add-on to the anime, except that the autor doesn't participate to the add-on...:Erm:

The next episodes of Bleach (when they return to the original story) will be a little... how say that... uber-destructive ^^, W&S...

Just saw Ghost in the Shell 2. It looked REALLY good, though the story was a bit meh... didnt have the freshness and style of the first one.

Ghost in the Shell I is great.
Ghost in the Shell II is more great, but give me a headache when they began to speack philosophy (not for long, this is not Evangelion first end...).
Ghost in the Shell : Stand alone Complex I & II are great animes series, good animation, lot of emotions, very good.

More over that, does somebody know Witch Hunter Robin ?

Chihiro's trip is called Spirited Away. http://www.nausicaa.net/ isn't bad. I can't read the official site. I have the same problem with 2chan. oh well.

The sequel to SEED, SEED Destiny, starts off pretty well but has a horrible end half. Though Shinn was cool, if a little too whiny.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I don't watch much anime, but I've seen:

- Laputa: Castle in the Sky (I remember watching this I think on ITV when I was a kid, used to remember images from this film, but never knew it was this film till recently, love it).
- Nausicaa Valley Of The Wind
- Princess Mononoke
- Spirited Away
- Kiki's Delivery Service
- Grave of the Fireflies

lol, most of them seem to be from Studio Ghibli.
:p

Since Lord Gordonis brought it up

Gungrave is my personal favourite. It's not what I expected I played the game that it was based on before I watched it so I was expecting a bullets galore action fest and instead got treated to this delightful peice of storytelling that comes along something like the Goodfellas meets the Crow... for want of a better comparrison.

Well worth the watch. The English dub isn't horrid either, (first anime my Fiance actualy enjoyed... she wont watch subtitles...).
