IH has War Suns, Twelve can gene-ensorcel you instead, Tapper gets his flagship, and Morgoth teleports infantry, plus there just aren't that many PDSs on the board, so no one really needs to bypass planetary shields much / needs a second method of bypassing shields. It's a very situational ability, and this table doesn't seem like it'll have much of that situation.

That said, I'll trade you my equally-situational-and-crappy alliance PN for yours if you like. I could see myself getting 1 or 2 uses out of yours.

Hey @Morgoth, I'll pay you 5 TG to activate Atlas on this turn (you don't have to do anything else after the activation, so basically a reimbursed stall plus some extra TG for your troubles).

For me, the main reason was a stall in addition to flipping the nexus to Alpha and Beta and opening up the board. I could possibly getting a trade out of it. Pretty good for one action. You though... you've claimed the nexus, with some justification thanks to the position of the wormhole - and now you just let it go? Where are you going instead?

@Tapper - I'm invading Mahact space on my upcoming turn. I thought Twelve was going to use Warfare to remove the CT in Ab/Ash/Loki, but interestingly he picked Accoen/Jeol'ir instead... I think that means 90% likely that my battle with him will be a defensive one for me, which means I'm not active player and can't make a transaction with you right before the fight. We'd made the deal earlier for me to use your agent and war funding, with the intent that I would transact for war funding right before the fight, but I can't on defensive.

Thoughts?

Perhaps something like I receive it at the end of your turn before the expected attack and if it doesn't happen I return it on my following turn so it's only out of your hands for one sequence of Khell->Morgoth->IH's turn would be a decent compromise, as I understand you don't want to risk me holding it the whole round.

I had every intention of taking Mallice early this round but with the leadership stall, the build up in Lodor, the PDS 2, now Vortex.

Where do you think I'm going?

Plus it'll open up my PO for this round with assimilate. Mallice was my goal but it had to change with people non negotiating with me, giving stuff away elsewhere. Alliance with two neighbours meaning it could only ever go one way.

I'm so glad that action was a stall action. It leaves me an opportunity.

Just letting it go is a bit strong. I’m not sure what you expect my Carrier to do against a War Sun or a fleet of dreads. And why do I have to be going anywhere? I’m perfectly capable of getting POs where I am, and as you can see I’m not starved for captures either.

Obviously I'm holding the Counterstroke action card, so I want Morgoth to activate Atlas so I can deactivate it.

Then I research Dread II and take Twelve's delightfully-lowly-defended homeworld. Ironic reversal of Twelve threatening to take my homeworld last round.

With only 1 tactical CT remaining, I don't think you are going to spend that on attacking Everra and just leave your homeworld occupied. I think you'll either try to retake Ixth or else go for some other retribution against me.

Maybe you try to do both using Predictive Intelligence, but that would force you to send a lot less forces to Everra, so still a net-benefit for Morgoth, I think.

And for the concerned among you, it's not like I'll be able to hold onto Ixth. Twelve will have his flagship fleet deactivated again next round and things'll get... messy. But the Leadership stall stops him from using his commander to activate it this round

If I can manage to hold ixth to the end of this round it stops him from unlocking his terrifying hero this round, which is the biggest boon. If not, well at least it reduces his CT count by exhausting Ixth before he can use it on leadership.

I have no attackers on my other side, everyone else will be happy to see the Vuil’raith focused on one person. We had a nice Cold War going. There’s a reason people try to step back from the brink.

Well I guess your threats make sense now. I didnt think there was an action card that removes a CT as I dont remember ever hearing of an action card called counterstroke.. You do realize that you would just be throwing away even more of your dreads right? My count is 10 resources already. I'd gladly add to the refuse yard and gain trade good to boot.
