The battle for ixth is going to be close! Twelve probably still has a slight edge in a battle if he could purchase war funding or tekklar legion as the active player, but it's going to be tight and surely d'rek has some action cards which will have an impact. And if he does fully committ to ixith he leaves his other territories open for d'rek to swoop in with her carriers.

That's the real gamble. I could've spent Atlas and Ixth on a bunch more mechs and infantry to make Ixth truly impregnable, but then Twelve just wouldn't attack it, and without carrier 2 I couldn't take a potshot for Loki/Abaddon. Now there's a chance I get both, but also a chance I fail at both. But the defense odds are juuuuust tight enough Twelve might go for it or might decide he doesn't like the risk and moves to defend himself instead.

Of course I waited to reinforce Ixth at the last minute to make the choice extra agonizing for him

I'm probably disadvantaging myself by explaining this, but in the interest of not waiting an entire 24 hours just for Twelve to clarify/explain and then waiting for Morgoth's reply to that...

@Morgoth - Twelve gets commodities from his infantry dying, or he can transform them commodities into TG. He's expecting to lose... let's say 6 infantry in this upcoming turn. If he makes no deals during his turn, the first 3 infantry will hit commodity cap and then the next 3 that die he'll have to use at least 2 of them to convert commodities into TG, so from 6 dead infantry he'll at best get 2C+2TG (4 total). But if he can make deals to give TGs during his turn he can turn the first 3 infantry into commodities, give those commodities away in his deal(s), and then turn the next 3 infantry into more commodities, never "wasting" a dead infantry on converting a commodity and therefore getting the 6 total instead of the 4 total from the earlier example.

So your reply of him sending you 2 TG on your turn isn't what he is trying to negotiate for, the timing is very specific to him. You might as well lay out for him now a counter-offer that would please you which aligns with the during-battle timing he wants, or else he's just going to come back and suggest that very thing when he gets back online.
