whilst Zoom sounds good, its limited to 40 mins?

is google hangouts still useful, what was the upper limit on it when we used to do them? how do you even start one? is it like a chat room and pass out an invite or do i just keep inviting people?

I did a Skype with 14 people last night, that's free and it just about coped.

Zoom if one person has a subscription would work.

Hangouts I've never used but should work for that many people.

Facetime works great, but requires apple I suppose. Skype, as IH says, is free. We've been using Houseparty, which is very easy to use, and facilitates people coming and going as they please. There's a relatively low limit of 10 or so people though.

zoom seems to have removed this during the covid problem as a show of goodwil.

We were on Zoom for 6 and a half hours last night. But my friend who organized the meeting had a subscription before, so not sure if that was a factor.
