NFL 2020 to Super Bowl 55

I think it was because some requirement the league enforces. They last played Wednesday prior to Monday afternoon. I could be wrong though, because in the 'before times' and even now, teams can play on a Sunday and then be scheduled for the Thursday night game. Also, the game must have only been aired in specific markets only and not national because I thought maybe I could DVR it while at work but it was not available in my area.
Was listening to some sports talk critique about the Steelers and I have to say I agree. Their wins this year have been hollow and they have some obvious issues pretty much guaranteeing they won't make it out of the AFC playoffs to punch their ticket to the big dance. They can't run at all, so everything is hinging on Big Ben's arm. And, as has been the case for at least a decade, they make so many stupid mistakes, either dumb penalties, missed assignments that lead to scores on them, fundamental play that should be buttoned up by the time you hit the 1/4 season mark, they will make these mistakes in games at the end of the season when it really counts or, even better, they will make these mistakes in the playoffs and lose to a team they should beat at home (*cough Jags *cough). I'm predicting a loss to the Bills this Sunday.

Well this is a season like no other, for all sports. I have heard similar things as well, things I hadn't heard mentioned while Pittsburgh was winning. But their opponents have mostly not been top tier. Did their receivers really drop 8 passes, like I thought I saw? That'll hurt any team. James Conner should be back for the next game? Pittsburgh's run game isn't bad when he's in there, no?

Yep, they lead the league in dropped passes. And near the bottom in yards/carry. The dropped passes supports the criticism that they are not buttoned up, which really is a criticism of the coaching staff (that they haven't fixed these problems and they still persist). I like Mike Tomlin, but I have been critical of his attention to detail and the tendency of the team to have an unfocused moment in crucial situations/games. The margins become razor thin in the playoffs and one stupid mistake will have you on the couch watching the rest of the playoffs / SB. That has been the Steelers story for quite a few years now.
[EDIT] In other news: saw some highlights of that Bills / 49ers game. PuhPOW! Josh Allen was throwing some frozen ropes! When that dude is having a game, he has a game... know what I'm sayin'?

Josh Allen is coming along pretty nicely, considering what some people thought of him when he was drafted. I think I'd be pretty happy with my QB situation if I was a Bills fan. I agree he has amazing arm talent when he's on.

Cool, Steelers/Bills game is the Sunday night national game, so I'll be able to watch. Predicting a loss sadly. I think Josh Allen may have the confidence building to max now and I've a feeling he is going to light the Steelers defense up.

It'll be a good study of both teams. Can Pittsburgh bounce back from the loss, on the road vs a quality opponent? And is Buffalo ready to step up into the team that doesn't wilt in a big game, the way up and comers tend to do till they grow through it. If Buffalo gets this win, they may finally be ready to truly challenge in the postseason.

Didn't watch the Monday night game, but there are rumors that Lamar Jackson left the game and went into the locker room because he has to drop the Browns off at the Super Bowl <<< see what I did there?

Haven't really followed the Chargers, I should since the Broncos are my side piece and the Chargers are in their division, but the Broncos suck so haven't really stayed up with how they've been doing. Besides, I will never accept the Chargers as the "LA Chargers". Forever and always San Diego *peace-sign-to-my-SDC-homies SouthWest Sigheeeeed!
Anyway, for the Chargers, I caught some highlights. Justin Herbert can spin it with his elite arm talent. He's been outside my NFL orbit of knowledge, but I think I'm going to pay more attention to him now.

I actually watched more of that game than I thought I would because it stayed close. Herbert is really impressive. I've seen him several times now and he never seems rattled either. Chargers fans should be happy!

It's a solid bet to proclaim we're gonna get a repeat Super Bowl champion. The Chiefs just toy with teams, and then shit on their fans hopes. How many times have opposing fans been tricked into thinking they have a chance? Then the second half comes and the 4th quarter begins and Patrick Mahomes and the offensive are all like - "awww aren't you cute, thinking we could be stopped and held below 30 pts, sorry we crushed your dreams."

Well slap my ass and call me Sally, the Steelers decided to win (a close one) and not make it four losses on a row. I'm predicting they close the regular season out with a loss to the Browns.

Makes it a must win game for the Browns in order to make the playoffs, so I'm doubling down on the Browns getting the win. A perfect gift from the Steelers to an in division rival. Here you go guys, our late Christmas gift to you is playing like crap so you can make the playoffs.

Yo! @Ailesbury. Your Falcons loss to the Chiefs had to be a heart stomper. That missed field goal had so much swerve, something had to be up with that. That would have been quite a pelt on the wall for your guys though, if they handed the Super Bowl champs their second loss of the season. And damn, the Falcons' kicker, Younghoe Koo, I want to know more about his backstory.

Yikes, Doug Pederson (Philly coach) getting hammered. Losing the locker room maybe.

Welcome to the playoffs guys. Hot take sports talk was all lined up behind the Bills were going to dominate and having the strongest momentum going into the playoffs. They got every bit of old man Rivers and the Colts and advance 27-24. Squeak squeak.

Emotional interview with Philip Rivers after the game. I think he knows that's a wrap on a career.

This is happening today. On Nickelodeon channel.
The NFL is so unabashedly thirsty at times with its attempt to keep up with what's poppin'. Next we'll have players making TikTok touchdown dances during the game. Don't know the numbers, but I'm guessing the NFL has been dropping in popularity with younger demos? So this is their play in lassoing them back? Smart attempt, don't get me wrong, but it could also be a PR nightmare in whether this lands good or not. I'll be checking it out, so they have me.
