But yes, I do miss a lot of the old members and the more active days of forum yore.

I sometimes see Kazooies post's and I wonder if this is what we were all like in 2006.

Well, I'm attempting to level up. I'm hoping in about 15-20 years I'll be good and clever enough to post something so vitriolic and divisive (but not so much to get banned) that it causes a forum member to quit. I want that feeling of getting a parting shot when that member says goodbye, I need that feeling of superiority. I'm getting there. One day, God willing, it will happen *fingercrossed

When's the next Malaz book coming out?
I suspect you won't see much action until then.
Even then, the off-topic forums are so steeped in inside jokes and established personalities, ionno if anyone new would actually want to venture in.
Gone are the heydays of crazy forum fun like the rep wars, where a noob could just join in and become one of us overnight. no-one out of the regulars has time for stuff like that (me included, most of the time).

I think part of it is growing up. A lot of us have had kids, got careers, partners etc. Back then I was a student and had a lot more time to doss around...

And the rest of us are in cynical spirals of depression over having grown up and failed at careers, partners, kids, etc!

I remember what it was like to moderate the inn when you had all that "time to doss around."

But on the plus side, there are still occasional meetings in real life. Next year off to visit Hetan and Malaclypse. Sadly missing Dag’s pre-Christmas trip to Manchester but hope to catch y’all next time.
