Don't have much confidence in the US Mens basketball team. They really tanked in the worlds. Atleast the women are a bright spot :-)

Are there any different/new sports this year?

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Here's a slightly serious turn: How about a return to "Altius, celeritus, fortius"? Get rid of judged sports and watch the corrupt judging get wiped out.

Can't do much about the drugs though I'm afraid. Sport these days is more lab vs lab than athlete vs athlete.

No, but I'd love a way to catch every doping athlete out there.

Wouldn't be too many of the high fliers left

No fucking way Olympics are going to be unscathed and safe. That May decision is coming fast and shit is only just beginning to ramp up.

Which makes me wonder how likely we are going to have to wait until 2021 which in turn makes me think two things if that is so. 1. Will they just say fuck it and remain on track with a three year gap to 2024 or 2. Take the plunge and go back to the old format going 2 games for 2022 on? Itís going to be utter chaos anyway it shakes out for the host and those poor athletes that had 2020 as their last attempt for glory.

So really I canít imagine being an athlete possibly having my career ending without even getting a shot to compete in this event of events. Do they have mental health plans in place to help these beaux and gals? I mean any sport league should be looking into this but this is the OLYMPICS! People will off themselves if they canít get help. 4 yrs is so long to be preparing for only to be told sorry we canít do this now.

Well I guess with name stick 2024 is still the next?

I don't know if there are cases where people only compete in the Olympics but most athletes have regional, national, continental, world championships that they compete in year round.

The Olympics are important but there's a lot of other contests out there.

And these will be shut down as well. Witness all major sporting codes at the moment.
