EDIT: seems the SK thing was exceptionally poorly planned out. The National Assembly managed to gather in the building allegedly blocked by the Military police and pass a resolution overturning the martial law proclamation. The Pres is likely going to get impeached for trying to pull off a coup.

Part of the guy's success is people being frustrated with PSD (who have been in charge since the Revolution and have fucked us constantly so we tend to vote against them), homophobia (better dead than gay is one of the rallying cries because of course it is), nationalism and just plain idiocy. Some want to vote for him because we can't have a woman running the country because let's add sexism to the list.

I've seen some of his videos and the guy spouts nonsense. Water is information and it comes in bottles because the government doesn't want us to have that information (also it's not H2O as we've been indoctrinated). Or that giving birth by cesarian breaks the divine bond between mother and child. Honestly once you hear that, I don't know how you can take him seriously. Also in his speeches he talks like a movie character giving a speech. Idk how better to describe it, it just hits me as fake as hell. Oh, he also called Antonescu and the guy who founded the Legionari (our homebrew fascists) as patriots.

If they block him, at this point, there might be riots (they blocked Sosoaca who's even crazier and people grumbled). PSD is hated by a good majority of the country, they have usually been good at election stealing and making people too apathetic to vote. Now the far right has several options. Both the AUR and SOS parties are nuts as far as I care. Both parties go on and on about the traditional family, sovereign state and wanting peace. Basically all the red flags.

Our current fear is that the recounting they want from the first round might happen, PSD announces it's their man instead of Lasconi and they will lose the vote out of hatred. Even Lasconi has bad odds because she's a woman (sigh) and left leaning. And sadly too many people here have bought the "gays are coming for our kids" narrative. It's a mess and it will be close.

Parliament election is over, it will now depend how the parties team up. They can block the far right crazies but it means allying with PSD. Which might bite them next time. It's all bad as far as we can currently tell.


EDIT. Ok this is just .... One of the family values, say no to the gays parties, POT (Partidul Oamenilor Tineri - Young People's Party) which obviously has old fucks in it has gone further. One of their now Senators is Valentina Aldea ..... who apparently did "video chats". Right in the family values. I swear these people are buffoons.
