Anyhow epic. So what was Arya making?

The parallels between episode 1 and this where redic..

Where is Ghost ?

I shed tears when Jon and Arya hugged.

Most awkward newsbreak ever.. oh ya about that

anyone else think ... pika ?(awkward pika meme) on the way between bran/Jamie.

Why was kid nailed to the wall as a the Targeyen symbol

Jon’s only move is hot springs

It wasn't the targaryen symbol, it is a symbol the walkers leave (they did it north of the wall too, at fist of the first men I think)
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

Weird Bran.

And show leans on the funny more then I remember: Tyrion's frozen balls comment. Tormund - "my eyes have always been blue". The Hound's comment to Arya. I think there were some others - a quip or two by Bronn when coitus interruptus by Qyburn? And Euron Greyjoy's complete disregard for liking his head attached to his shoulders when working his charms on Cersea.

First episode summed up as the 3 Rs - Reunions (in progress - Starks complete when Theon returns to Winterfell and still to reveal when Jaime and Brienne get all smoochy smoochy, to Tormund's dismay), Reconciliations (work in progress) and Retributions (work in progress).

[EDIT] Just remembered the funny by Bronn. Qyburn commented that one of the whores would die of the pox by year's end, and Bronn asked - "which one?". ... Posted Image That cheeky little sausage

Waaaay too creepy Bran.

I am getting a bit tired of the romance subplots, they feel silly in the face of the Army of the Dead.

Jaime is going to have a tough time in the next episode.

Decent setup ep.
Some of the interpersonal and political stuff is a bit tiresome.. oh look someone from the North doesn’t trust blah blah outsiders blah loyalty yawn, but that’s a minor point vs some of the great reunions we got.
And Jon almost falling off a dragon.

This episode had the jokes for sure. Particularly liked the dragon staring.

I don't mind the romance, sniping, etc. stuff really. I mean, we're on the horizon of human extinction in the real world, and still do all that stuff. What're you gonna do?

Cutting up that poor kid and then torturing him in the fire (after initially building him up). I feel that the show takes it too far.

This seems to be a new direction for the night king. I don't think we observed him doing sadistic violence before. He seemed quite business like.

There are a fuckton of hilarious memes about my fave moment of the episode last night...but this one is the one that tickles me best.

Oh America and your need to censor swear words as though that somehow makes a difference.

Why not use an explicit version?

Well, in America the only path to upward mobility currently is going viral in such a way that Ellen puts you on her show...so it's gotta be clean content.

Nah. White Walker Mutilated Body Art has been a thing since the first episode.

Is the kid on the wall significant? Don't remember him.

Also why is it important enough for the watch to circle back? I don't even remember what they were doing in the wild.

No it's not. First episode, the three men of the Night's Watch find body parts in a very similar pattern beyond the Wall.

I don't know what they were doing there or who the boy was though. I felt like one of them saying "the younger one" means I should have remembered him, but I don't!

That kid was the new Lord Umber that Jon had re-swear fealty at the end of s7, and who pokes his head out during the meeting of this episode. Likewise the red-haired girl welcomed back to Winterfell is Lady Karstark, similarly re-sworn. Basically everyone -- from the bannermen to the Night's Watch -- have all been called in to Winterfell, both for their protection and to shore up the living army. I don't know that the Night's Watch were circling or patrolling anything so much as making the trip from Castle Black to Winterfell -- Last Hearth just happened to be a potential safe place on that journey, same reason the survivors of Eastwatch by the Sea were there.

I believe he was also the kid running through the crowd at the beginning?

Ah, I clocked Alys Karstark but didn't make the connection he was Lord Umber - thanks!

So, the dead Starks are going to rise up, yes? Lots of tomb shots in that first ep... bet Jon has to kill Ned.

And Arya forging. Weapon to kill Night King I guess.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

What's happened to Brienne? Last I remember she was looking after Sansa but I feel like I have a bit of a knowledge gap.

Excellent reintroduction ep though. Quite pumped for the rest of it. Hoping to see more sweet moves by Arya soon though.
