Oh man I just watched Sonnie's Edge. Brutally violent, excellently animated, dark and harrowing story, nice pair of animated boobies. Basically had everything.

Except Sex Bots.

Oh Simeon, what would Jesus say?

Some of the technology / animation used in the series could be used for the production of the Malazan (and other) Sci-Fi books into TV / Movie productions, in some the quality was excellent.

Good Hunting is easily my fav as of now. I didn’t want it to end and at only 16 mins it had so much progression it was the equivalent of watching a full movie. I’m not bullshitting.

If this story is on paper I want it yesterday already.

Isn't it in his short story collection?

So my top three of the whole 18 are easily BEYOND THE AQUILA RIFT, SONNIE'S EDGE, and ZIMA BLUE.

I finished this show and really enjoyed it. Some were misses, but most were fun to great. The Chinese one was my favourite.

My favorites were:

Beyond the Aquila Rift- I got 'outer limits' vibes from this one
Secret War - The animation was mind blowing, the action was great. I love it despite the story being kind of lackluster.

Honourable mention to when yoghurt took over

Hamilton and Reynolds have been on my radar for a long time, but I still haven't read either one. Sonnie's Edge looked like that world and characters had a lot of potential. The animation in most of these is excellent.

"Sonnie's Edge" is chronologically the first story in the NIGHT'S DAWN universe. It's the first story in the collection A Second Chance at Eden, so you can pick that up and see how you like the setting. And if that works for you, there's then the absolutely massive NIGHT'S DAWN TRILOGY itself (The Reality Dysfunction, The Neutronium Alchemist and The Naked God).

I had not watched this one, and juts did last night. Phenomenal. Simple, but evocative and well done. Apparently this guy has only done other short stories, but they are all seemingly supernatural military fiction, so I'd like to find more.

Agreed, Lucky 13 was amazing! The kind of SciFi that's right up my alley.

Blue Zima was good, but it was kinda predictable. The same as The Secret War, which was also amazing.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Alastair Reynolds is great at the dark, body horror stuff. Although his recent work has moved away from it. I'd love to see these guys tackling one of his longer novels, like CHASM CITY.

Saw Three Robots and The Witness today. Three Robots was quite a delightful and funny little episode with a nice twist at the end. Most enjoyable.

By contrast, The Witness was a dark and disturbing piece that messed with my head but the animation was stunning and it kept me gripped from start to finish.

Speaking of his body horror, I'd love to see them do Diamond Dogs.

Zima Blue was amazing, my favorite one so far along with Good Hunting. I loved the feel of both of these. I'm surprised that someone here thought Zima Blue was predictable.

Still have 4 eps left. I learned that Netflix released this in 4 different episode orders...I was confused why some of you seemed to be watching it out of order.

That and "The Great Wall of Mars" are the two Reynolds shorts that I would MOSt like to see done in this fashion.

FISH DAY was quite pretty to look at and i liked the concept, tho it was a little slow in execution.
NEED A HAND and the werewolf thing were predictable, but watchable.
THE DUMP and the Hitler one were mildly amusing but not nearly as impressive as some of the other work.
I liked the animation style of THE WITNESS but the story itself was meh.

EDGE, and 13 are easily my favorites, probably in that order. RIFT and SECRET close seconds.

Well, the moment Zima talked about the woman, I knew exactly where the story was going and I was exactly right.

Maybe that's just me. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, it was good story with a nice ending, but from that moment I immediately guessed the outcome.

Lucky 13 was pretty predictable as well, and I loved every moment of that one. Secret War was also pretty predictable, and it too was a good story.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Agreed, Lucky 13 was all-around great.
