Pretty sure that use of secondaries has to happen before any trading can take place, so not sure you'll be able to do that this round.

No, the plan is to use the tech secondary on assault cannons so tapper cashes in on my pn. Then I trade it to Nico. I have an action card that let's me research and I use it on a tech Nico wants as well as me. So Nico cashes it in and then I trade it to you for your trade Pn.

Blend, I can't say I agree with your analysis. Or, to be more specific, the very nature of this game precludes you from being able to reliably take every objective that presents itself. I've been fighting more in a round than you've all game, and I still struggle to reach the 11 planets objective. Furthermore, the galaxy is small, that's the point. You can't expect to sit safely in a corner and not feel the pressure of your neighbours expansion. This is not a peaceful game.

Yes you have a poorer starting system than those around you. In return you can reliably acquire 6 trade goods a round, in addition to those you gain as you claim your racial techs. You'll struggle in a head on conflict with say the Sardak, or the Mind Snakes (hissss), but twelve is at a much stronger disadvantage than you in that regard, and that hasn't really stopped him from being a major military force for most of the game.

That is not to say I'm critizing your game, this is your first and you've held onto your piece of the galaxy, and kept well abrest of the trading, which the Hacan should. I do however think you've been expecting being able to do too much.

I've been waiting to reach a computer but I want to chime in and say the game does feel really balanced, it could have gone quite a few different ways at various points and its great to play and be a part of. I'd have attacked either Twelve before Gnaw put his ship near Creuss, or Khell's homeworld but for the wormhole agenda. Morgoth fucked me over there by swapping them mid round, I could have planned differently had it been at the start or the end of the round. Khell had a good start with good tactics, Twelve executed some good strategy and we all still don't know who will win.

I'd definitely play again and I don't mind which race either, although I feel I haven't done the Creuss justice. They are very fun to play with.

It certainly feels balanced to me, but maybe that's easy to say as I am a contender for winning at this point. I hope, if D'rek feels up for it, that the next game also includes all 9 players. I enjoy the added complexity.

Where there is a will there is a way. Can you feel my thumb going up... look, no hands! Er, what? If you can grab logistics you could always build and then remove command token start of next round to give yourself a fleet. I suspect there's going to be another round after next round depending on what objective comes up.

That's hardly a surprise! Though I am not nearly as convinced as you seem to be of my own victory. If Gnaw gets another round Imperial I'd assume he'll be the winner.
