I'll wait for the audiobook! Are you going to narrate it yourself?

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

The year that brought a Star Trek show that wasn't Star Trek and a Star Wars show that isn't Star Wars.

It won't be missed.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

This year I complete the orbital death ray.

Remember to put in those armoured grates over the heating vents.

It's only about the size of a small microwave, and any heat is void resolved. Battle stations are for people looking to put on a big show.

If your heating vents are not too hot for a person to crawl in them, they are not needed. Also its clear the death star was an inside job. The exhaust port sucked in that torpedo at a right angle when the in fact an exhaust port should have blown the torpedo out.

"The death star! It's gone from blow to suck!"

You owe me a coffee Gorefest. And a keyboard.

Also, pants.

Do audiobooks come with subtitles?

Like just printed out to have at hand while you listen.

Perhaps bound together with a sturdy cover.

Great idea, huh! I think I'll call them "visualaudiobooks".
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I had a half cocked idea to hit the alcohol abstention gravy train this month. However the decision had not been officially made so when I stumbled upon some tomato juice in the fridge purchased by my Christmas guests and saw that we have vodka I somehow ended up making my first ever homemade Bloody Mary. It seems that any excuse will do.

Never been that desperate fortunately. Using it did make one of my friends puke in the lab sink once due to a hangover though. The number if discussions I've had about "What would happen if we drank the deionised water from the MilliQ machine" is startling. I still don't know the answer.

Nothing much, really. It is just deionised water. Tastes like nothing though, unpleasant.

Someone told me if you drink a lot of it you can strip the ions out of your stomach and cause irreversible damage. It sounded plausible at the time. I didn't bother to investigate further as I've always worked on infectious disease and it would be foolish to drink anything in a lab where I practise aseptic technique.

I think you’d need to drink an awful lot to get an effect like that. I doubt it would even work. I assume they expect some sort of violent osmotic reaction but really the deionised water just mixes with your stomach acid and that is the end of it. Never drank it in the lab of course (i also work in an infectious diseases lab), just put some in a centrifuge tube and had a sip on the corridorPosted Image

(Q) Why are infectious disease doctors the best ones to date?
(A) They are the most cultured and sensitive.

Counter argument: possibility of super-powers.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but happy 2018 to everyone! Five days in and there's hasn't been any nuclear war, so I say yay for making it this far! :p

As for resolutions, I generally keep them vague...this year I'm going to try to eat / drink less added sugar. It'll be difficult, because I am a sugar junkie and I do not like the taste of artificial sweeteners, butI'll be happy even if I just cut back a little bit. I'm not deluding myself into thinking I can cut out all sugar entirely, heh.
