I do think it's fair to ask if you don't like it if you find it bad period or just bad compared to the other 3 in general. There is so much worse out there. I enjoyed it compared to a lot of trash out there but I will stand by the fact it's the worst of the 4 in the set.

This, sooo much this.

It is most definitely the worst of the 4, and frankly I'm still surprised by that fact. When this was first announced I was absolutely sure that Cage and Iron Fist would be the best entries, and as it's turned out Dd is easily the best and JJ is at least as good as Cage, in my opinion anyhow. I honestly believed if any would flop it would be JJ, hands down. Like you say though relative to the Netflix/Marvel franchise this isn't too great, it has more than it's fair share of issues, but it's still so much better than tons of rubbish that finds a way to stay on our TV screens.

No tot mention that the gorgeous cinematography in JJ and LC is entirely absent in this show.

This show is so daft, but I can't look away. At least Harold keeps me entertained.

Edit: Ah yes, Joy's final choice certainly makes lots of sense considering what we know of her and her personality.

Decided to finish it last night.
I don't know if me not being a fan of the comics or a marvel fanatic but I felt this show was distinctly average.

The main character was grating, to say the least. I'd say the best acting in the whole series was by Ward.

The she thing felt like a low rent Kung the schtick at times, with cringe worthy dialogue and some really stilted fight scenes (some of the fight scenes were well done but a lot just looked crap and goofy)

Damn, you guys really aren't selling this to me and I still haven't finished Luke Cage. As soon as Cottonmouth wasn't around the plot went weird and I've been having trouble for months getting back into it.

Which is a shame because I smashed through DD1, JJ and DD2.

Ugh yeah! Watch in order. Dare, Jones, Dare 2, Cage

Fist is the worst on the 4 but still mildly ok.. if you want more from Ward actor watch Banshee. He plays a turned his life around ex Neo Nazi who joins the police.

Oh! That's where I knew him from. It was bugging me.

have watched first 2 episodes.

for a guy that's meant to be THE premier martial artist in the Marvel Universe.....

They have an actor who can't throw a punch.

Ugh.

Guess I'm still pissy that the proposed movie adaptation with Ray Park from 2009 or so never got off the ground - THAT would have been an Iron Fist worth watching.
meh. Link was dead :(

I just can't wrap my head around how poorly made so many aspects of this show was. I wonder if something happened during the early process or if it's just bad workmanship from beginning to end.

Just feels to me like it was treated as an afterthought they raced through so they could get to the Defenders.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

I think the pedigree for the other three shows is just SO far superior to IRON FIST's Scott Buck...

I mean DAREDEVIL creator/showrunner is Drew Goddard, whose claims to fame include BUFFY, ANGEL, ALIAS, LOST for TV....

And JESSICA JONES creator/showrunner is Melissa Rosenberg whose claims to fame are DEXTER, ALLY McBEAL, and THE O.C., DARK SKIES, THE OUTER LIMITS...

And LUKE CAGE creator/showrunner is Cheo Hodari Coker whose claims to fame are SOUTHLAND, RAY DONOVAN, and ALMOST HUMAN...

Scott Buck's resume is FAR less impressive, but the most telling is that he's never "created" anything, nor had the showrunner role. He's written episodes of TV shows (He wrote for DEXTER, ROME, and SIX FEET UNDER)...but that's not usually what a good showrunner makes. You have to have the skills to oversee a production in most/all aspects and make it flow and jive...the other Netflix Marvel creators have that background in either TV or film...Buck doesn't, and it REALLY showed. The fact that a lot of the complaints stem from random aspects of the show (fight choreography, music, ect.)....shows his hand was NOT strong in all elements. I'm sure he focused down on writing (thew thing he knew how to do), and let the other departments run themselves, delegated. This made for a disjointed whole.

I think you'll find Goddard, and Rosenberg especially (I'm unsure of Coker, as I don't know his work ethic) are hands on EVERYTHING to make sure the product out the other end is the best not can be and jives with their specific vision. Like you can FEEL Rosenberg's courtroom drama aspects from her experience in that....in JJ. In spades.

I don't think Buck had a vision...or if he did, I can't see it in the final product.

I watched about half of DAREDEVIL S1 (first four eps, Stick ep and finale).
There is a distinct possibility that i may not actually watch anything else from the Marvel Netflix universe until DEFENDERS comes along.

Yeah I think Nevyn's right that it felt like an afterthought a bit, seeing as they've just released an August start date for the Defenders as well, it was obviously pushing on their minds. The Defenders is back in the hands of the people who worked on Daredevil I believe, so I'm still very, very hopeful. And frankly, bad as it was in a manner relative to the Netflix/Marvel partnership, if Iron Fist s1 is the worst they ever do then they're still pretty solid in my opinion. I do wish they had cast Iron Fist better though, I don't agree with the reasons for all the criticism they and Finn came in for, I just don't think he's not a great lead or a very good choice for that character.

Couldn't agree more with QuickTidal about the pedigree of the showrunners as well, also The Punisher in DD s2 is fantastic as he says :)

Hyped for The Defenders anyhow :D

EDIT: Brain messed up with your name Quick, called you the eponymous wizard lol, edited now.
