:cat: sigh

"Reading the SPOILERS for this game"

I fucking hate it when this thing eats words I type that it doesn't like.

Not sure if it's Google or Android that's doing this stupidity.

Ideally, if there's an NK, it should be used on me, to ensure the second recruiter doesn't get to use my other set of skills.

I was wondering when someone would try weaponising the 'just kill me' defence after JPK kept using it and people started believed him. Guess the answer is now. :cat:

JPK uses it whenever he feels the case on him is clouding too many minds.

This is a game where I suspect everyone is roled (I've been saying as much for 3 days now). It just so happens that the non-finder aspect of my role is special enough to make my lynch worthwhile.

No.

Just like you, when recruited, I play a different function for cult. (And I lose the finder power).

Revealing what it is would, imo, provide too much valuable information to recruiters about how the game works right now.

I am making a judgement call to withhold this information, because I feel it's value to cult far outweighs any benefit town will derive from knowing it. When you get to spoilers, I feel you will all agree with my logic.

OK, some food for thought: Trake doesn't think Gamelon is a recruiter. I'm not sure I agree, but if that is the case then it's worth considering who his master is.

Seems like if the master was going to take sides here, they would side with Gamelon. In that case it'll be Trake (we're discounting Gamelon and it's not Serc).

On the other hand, in Gamelon's original reveal he claimed Kaschan was a non-recruiter - maybe Gamelon was trying to protect his master in that reveal?

The question everyone who is not Hanas needs to ask is why would I put 3 people (myself, him, and to a lesser extent, Kas) in the spotlight first thing in the day when there's been minimal to no pressure on all 3 to date.

Then use that lovely razor over there to slice through the wifom and bullshit.

No I disagree. As town you should give us the information because you will 100% not do it when recruited.

I do not see how letting you be recruited if that is the case will be beneficial to us. Sounds unbelievable tbh and makes me swing towards lynching you for your lies.

Go for it. I keep telling you, I'm better off dead before recruited.

Look at it this way: I know something. If I tell you, cult wilt hear it.
If I'm recruited, half of cults will know it.

If I'm lynched, you get my CF (proving who I was), my find on Hanas, as well as a pool of 3 to spot the last recruiter. AND cults will not know what they need.

I'm focusing mostly on Gamelon and Hanas and here's some fun stuff from very early in the thread:

This hit my radar from Gamelon:

Also, the cast has 11 roles, and only 2 are cult.

But which one

One is head of Daron, the other Beast. Unless I forgot how to read.

You sort of did

You mean the necromancer? You think he's part of Dagon?

They got awfully serious and specific after being jokingly called out for something. That response about necromancer sounds almost panicky in how specific it is this early in the game.

Then we have some curious interaction betweem the two:

Kind of surprised nobody is trying to old "Lynch Fanderay! It's definitely Fanderay! I won't stop until Fanderay is lynched! (and then I'll start metaphorically flipping you off until you lynch me!)" after it worked so well last game.

I definitely think Hanas is a cultist after this post.

vote Hanas

Or is that just what I wanted you to think! BWHAHAHAHAHA...oh wait, no that can't be it.

View PostHanas, on 06 March 2017 - 10:15 PM, said:

I can think of no one but a cultist who would re-nflict the emotional trauma of recalling the last game on us.

It must be part of his plan to break us down before offering to "save" us.

Too soon, huh? :p Laughter is the best medicine though - you should try a maniacal laugh like the one in my previous post. It feels so good!

So Gamelon opens the game with a joke vote on Hanas and Hanas just tries to play it cool. But then starts throwing random votes:

View PostHanas, on 07 March 2017 - 12:00 AM, said:

Hmmph, nobody around to talk to me? That's a shame, I was hoping to induce PTSD in a few more players before I go out for the evening :p.

Here kitty, kitty! :cat:

OK, well I'm out for the evening. Got to take a shower to get rid of my BO.

Speaking of which:

This sort of poking around is interesting. I somehow doubt a cult leader would open a game like that, putting themselves on top of several OMGUS lists.

And indeed just a few posts later BO gets all worked up over the vote and tries to bite back at Hanas, who continues trying to play cool:

View PostHanas, on 07 March 2017 - 10:48 AM, said:

Misleading chaos? Really? That sounds a bit OTT to me. Besides, I didn't vote you for low activity, I voted you for no activity :cat:. Turning up to the game and finding a vote on your head has a way of focusing minds.

Interestingly enough, BO was later recruited. Haven't gotten that far yet in my read, but IIRC, Hanas either hammered him or put at L-1. If Hanas is a recruiter, I'm wondering if maybe they recruited BO to get him of their back and then hammered for distancing?

Alright guys, I'm out for the weekend. I'm happy leaving my vote where it is.

If you guys blow up over the weekend I'll be around, but otherwise I'm going to be elsewhere in my main alt.

More mech spec from Gamelon:

View PostGamelon, on 07 March 2017 - 04:54 PM, said:

Usually the one who can deal with recruitment is the "reprogrammed" role- the person who can essentially turn recruits back into town. - think Edur split (our very first cult game) had that role.

In this set-up, only one I could see anywhere remotely close to that is the priest. And even then, there's no indication that they actually prevent a recruit. I would presume that the only traditional way to prevent recruitment is to target the recruiter with a guard action.

Okaros' play seems dumb. But unlikely to be cult, especially since the true coroner char would be able to counter the fake reveal.

And another over-eager vote jump from Hanas:

View PostHanas, on 07 March 2017 - 06:54 PM, said:

View PostKaschan, on 07 March 2017 - 04:14 PM, said:

At 9-1-1, Okaros is either stupid town or genius cult. After last game, I want stupid town gown. Especially in a cult game where they might end up on my team if I'm recruited.

Vote Okaros

I don't like this vote at all.

Remove Vote
Vote Kaschan

Losing the CF would REALLY hurt town, and the odds seem decent that this reveal is genuine. That Kaschan is so willing to get rid of such an important role shows that he either doesn't care about the CF because he's Cult, or that he is the stupid town of which he speaks. Either way, probably not a great idea to keep such a player around.

That's pretty exemplary of their respective play D1

Well, I can verify I'm not a recruiter, but I have a feeling that will be met with dubious looks.

Lends some credence to me about Gamelon telling SOME truth, if of course twisted as is Mafia tradition.

And here's something suspicious from both.

First Hanas:

View PostHanas, on 07 March 2017 - 11:40 PM, said:

View PostAlkend, on 07 March 2017 - 10:33 PM, said:

The odds for a lynch aren't great, but considering that we're likely to go -2 this night, maybe it's not bad news. I'd be willing to vote Iparth or Mockra, they coasted through D1 without as much as alerting anyone to their existence. Viable tactic for cult leaders.

I mean, there's still 7 hours before timeout - that's plenty of time if people actually start voting. Doesn't seem like many people are willing to stick their neck out though?

I'm still happy with my vote on Kaschan. His incomprehension and anger seem forced and fake. Okaros's reveal isn't that hard to understand, is it?

Having said that, if ever there were a game to lynch a low poster on Day 1, it would be this one. We're going to be looking for players whose playstyles change, but if you've been super quiet, how does anyone notice?

Says that there are 7 hours till timeout so that's enough time for a lynch... and doesn't come back until timeout. As if they were comfortable with not getting a lynch or just not giving a damn who gets lynched. Pretty sensinble if you're the only person on a team.

I left out the rest because it's irrelevant. I'm not criticizing your overall attitude but only the suspicion you were spreading with the first part of the post. But while we're at it your overall attitude was as neutral as it gets by the time of the post.
Anyone who reads the quote will be able to tell it's been cut off, I even refer to it as only a part of the post.

So you are proposing we lynch someone... for an unfinished thought.

I don't think I buy that.

Of the remainder, lynching a CF is not a good idea.

This may seem like OMGUS but

remove vote

vote Bek Okhan

seriously, getting touchy over one early vote to the point of calling it "misleading chaos" is a bit much. feels odd and forced.

probably gonna pass out soon, so we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Jumps on BO puting them at L-3: pretty comfy position on a train. The explaining how 'it might seem like an OMGUS vote' is pure hedging, something HD used in the previous game to coast through the game to victory. Me no likes.

That's it for Gamelon and Hanas on D1. I don't have it in me to do any more reading today, I'm going to bed, so not casting my vote before a freeze.

Edit:
Lol, I called Hanas Alkend. Guess I lose the moral high ground for calling out Gamelon's slip from earlier in the game :cat:

A much more suitable style for faction and cult, honestly.

The idiot.
