Merde. And the Frogs are through.
Well done Morocco though, hold your heads high lads.
I hate having a final with teams I couldn't give 2 shits about. It's like voting - who do I dislike the least?

Well, that was annoying. Morocco had some genuine chances, and they played well. French D was sharp (too bad they pulled Raviot), and their counters were... Persistent. Both goals came from defensive scrambles and some wild bounces, but they also missed some genuine chances (Giroud with the post, and then with the scissor that went wide).
Definitely a good game to watch, very open and exciting.
It'll be interesting to see how the 2 sides try to contain the respective number 10s on Sunday.

Of course.
And Canada had the "real" Group of Death all along, since we had to face 3rd and 4th place teams, and also BEL

'Qatar Won
[...] as we reach the climax of the competition, the main story line now reveals itself in all its dramatic clarity. [...]
[...] These [...] are [...] the story lines Qatar had hoped for. The final is being played out between the two superstars of world football who ply their trade at the club Qatar itself owns: Paris Saint-Germain. The final, in fact, feels like the perfect finale for everything Qatar has been building toward over the past decade. It bought a football club to promote the image of Qatar and steadily acquired the best players on the planet, before hosting the World Cup itself.
Despite all the backlash over Qatar's human-rights record at the beginning of the tournament, the conclusion is hard to avoid that, actually, everything has worked out rather well for the ruling House of Thani. As the tournament has gone on, the protests about LGBTQ rights and the bad press about labor conditions seem to have dissipated as the other, soccer-centered narratives took hold[...]
Across the news channels, there have been snippets of conversations with expats who live in Qatar, full of praise for the country, and visitors delighted with the experience. [...]
For Qatar, though, who wins hardly matters: Both superstars represent Qatar.
[...] the emirs of Qatar have subtly shifted global perceptions of their country and of the wider Arab world. All the corruption and migrant labor necessary to host the event, all the Western criticism that came with being awarded the tournament, might actually have been worth it. All the world's a stage. But with this World Cup, it does not feel as though we are actors, but mere spectators, while the directors are in the wings, happy with their production.'

So I guess DeChamps's game plan was to play like toddlers for 80 min to lull the Argentines with the false sense of security, then release the kraken (aka, Mbappe
Well played
Anticlimactic ending with the PKs. Good for Messi, I guess

Well, that was some final.
I really dislike Dibu Martinez. He's a classless, arrogant prick.

Yeah, that was unfortunate.
Good for Di Maria, though. He's worked hard for that. His play in 1st half was inspired.

'Argentine Goalkeeper [...] Humps Trophy After Winning World Cup
[...] the Argentinian was handed the trophy after shaking hands with FIFA President Gianni Infantino—and promptly placed the award at his crotch and thrusted it forward into the air. "No, don't do that, Emi. Don't do that," a BBC broadcaster could be heard, reacting live to the coverage. It is currently unclear whether the goalkeeper will face any discipline for the provocative gesture, given the host nation's strict conservative stances on sexuality and vulgarity.'

Should've at least been singing at the top of his lungs as he humped it....
Was going to say: at least you can cheer for Messi retiring... but no, he's not.
And the two superstars Elon Musk and Jared Kushner standing together amid the Qataris as guests of honor ( / bribery)....

This is a good season. Haven't felt so confident in a Untied side in years!
And the fact that the Scousers seem to be failing all over the place makes it a little bit more special!

The whole Mason Greenwood saga is currently doing my head in.
The amount of people with the opinion "he's not been taken to court, therefore he never did anything, therefore he should immediately be reinstated because he's good at football" is depressing.
Hint: something not been taken to court for to evidential difficulties does in no way means he's not done anything.
I hope he never wears the United shirt again.
