By that definition, is like a whole roasted chicken (meat encased in skin) a sandwich? Dumplings with some filling? Potato that is roasted whole and encased in peel? What if I encase a fry in a dip? Ice cream on stick encased in chocolate? Some candy with fillling?
Hmm and what about living chicken, it's flesh encased in skin, or organs encased in flesh encased in skin, are most of animals walking sandwiches?

I'm with Apt, someone update the title to "My name is Amphibian and I'm a madman"

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

If it wasn't hollowed out yes. But that is a giant bun that has been hollowed out. It's not sandwiching the gullasch, it's containing it.

That's a bread bowl.

If it had been sliced with the filling between the two slices, then yes.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

What about lettuce wraps? I think they are a paleo version of a sandwich.

God damn it woman, the function is right there in the name. A lettuce wrap "wraps" the food. It does not sandwich it. Unless you're talking about food sandwiched between two parallel pieces of lettuce leaves, then it is not a sandwich. That is the natural law of sandwiches!

When I'm really lazy, I take a slab-cut of ham (or sausage. Or back bacon) and put it between 2 thick slices of Swiss cheese.

Best sandwich ever.

That is not a sandwich. A sandwich is between 2 non-connected pieces of bread. Subway does not make sandwiches they make pedophiles they make Subs. Which is a different classification. Just like a completely wrapped food item (ala cazone) is not a sandwich as the breading completely covers everything.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Sub is short for submarine sandwich though.

What kind of a Sandwich Earl could possibly remain silent when the very nature of his greatest work is being sullied on the internet?

You and Itwaes Nom are missing that a sandwich must have a bread outside.

Hence me saying a breaded chicken and not a lettuce wrap or a Masan Gilani/Kisswhere envelopement.

I was busy gambling the family fortune away and just ate what my servants showed up with. I'd have eaten a calzone, a piece of breaded chicken, maybe even a slab of tofu between two lettuce leaves.

Ha! Just kidding! I'd have had them executed had they waltzed in bearing that atrocious tofu and lettuce concoction!

I need larl's opinion before deciding.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
