Itkovian makes me cry every time I read it, but like others have said there are so many instances in all the books where SE caches you unawares.

Please don't hunt me, but when Itkovian died I was mostly angry at him.

Coltaine, the most evocative and emotional.

but next I'd choose Hull. Talk about a death filled with regret. He doesn't even KNOW that he's already been forgiven. Brys's death is senseless. What a total waste. Whiskeyjacks..... doesn't still a chance before Kallor. Poor man. Felisin, um... if only she isn't so clouded by vengeance. Itkovian, I don't think I really understand this man. Ceda, well, this is a tragic death, though not one as unusual.

I found Itkovian's the most favoured tragic death. His last act was entirely selfless and gave relief to thousands upon thousands of T'lan Imass. I found Baudin's Death as he died for someone who absolutely hated him quite significant, it had a big impact on me at the time. Also Hull Beddict's as it was also so pitable. I liked Hairlock's death like Dolorous Menhir said, i personally liked the character but i wasn't sad to see the mad puppet go.

I voted for Baudin, seeing his death as the ultimate sacrifice, but there were others not mentioned that were also pretty brave. Hedge, Trotts, Truth, Kulp...

I haven't voted because I want to say Coltaine AND Brys - both of those were my 'favourite' deaths in the sense that they provoked the greatest response from me. Both deaths were betryals that burned me to my core - i don't think i've ever been so angry, outraged, upset, shocked and disbelieving in regards to a characters death before.

I had to go with Brys in the end cos while many of the others were sad, I found Brys' to be the most tragic. Having displayed such skill, and seen the danger they were facing, he gets taken out by poison! I couldn't believe it.

Several of the other deaths had a sense of inevitability about them.

I did find Hulls death to be quite tragic also, in that he never really got the chance to redeem himself.

Thought Tehol was toast as well, but Buggs appearance turns that into one of my favorite parts.

Not really a good time to be a member of the Beddict family!

I voted Brys. I just love MT. And I really cried when Brys died. It was so sad.
Every time I read the book now, I keep thinking "Nooo, please someone save him!". And noone does. And I love it.

It might not be the most famous death but when in the battle for the first throne two of Minala's children where at the entrance with trull, they were like 9 and 10 or something like that and the brother was just brutally slain right in front of his sister, it was very shocking and emotional... seeing kids get hurt always sucks... I felt more sadness for the sister though....

It?s one of the less consequential deaths in the series but was pretty rough.

Completely agree. In the short time we get to know about him he becomes a character which I was extremely attached to.
I was just about to ask why Beak wasn't between the options when I saw your post . He had a tragic yet honourable death

coltaine's death for me the whole chain of dogs was written immaculately and got the ending it deserved , closely followed by baudins death which also hit me hard

laseen as although she did some messed up things, everything she did was for the good of the empire, she even had whiskey jack on side despite what everyone though, for her to go out that way was suprising
