Scotland is probably now preparing for a second referendum. And some people in Northern Ireland want to do the same.

Just seen the region by region figures - Leave won everywhere except London and Scotland. And by more than 10% in most regions.

I don't know what to say. The country seems to have used this as a vote to express its anger and disillusionment, but if we follow through and leave the EU none of that will be fixed. In fact, it will just hand more power to the government the country is so angry with.

I'm so disappointed. I've never felt more disconnected from my own country. This is like waking up after the last general election to find the Tories had won, only worse. The country didn't learn, did it?

It's a neat trick. Gift the people you've routinely disenfranchised a chance to make change -- any change -- and they just might take it. It's artificial power, but it feels like the real thing. They're unhappy, and change is at least something. Gift them a scapegoat on top of that and now you're really looking generous.

"Freedom from Europe" is a funny way to look at it. Is Europe on another planet? Were the inextricable links spawned by tech advances and globalization actually extricable all along? Did the dinosaurs in England see the asteroid strike and say "Thank God and the Queen we Brexited from the Yucatan Union!"? Maybe it is that easy.

That's literally the exact opposite of what will happen. Have you seen the pound today? The value of your currency is literally decreasing because of your exit from the EU--its essentially the lowest its been in like 30 years.

I did not expect the victory for the leave camp. When leave won, I definitely did not believe there would be this level of fallout.

Regarding the state of Sterling:
It will probably bounce back in time, but the question is how long it will take to bounce back. Because if it takes too long, it is going to wreak havoc on the British economy (what with the consumer prices and the effects on exporters). The stocks most definitely will not be bouncing back as quickly, and I pity the people who depended on them for their savings/retirements.

As a financial nerd, I'm extremely interested in the fallout Brexit will cause.
As a political nerd, I'm just sad for the British people. I think this will be extremely bad for Britain and Europe in the long term, both economically and politically. I just hope my opinion is wrong.
