We also met Whiskeyjack's sister, Dunsparrow, and It seemed like more was going to happen with her but then ICE didn't pick up on that story line.

Kallor didn't get crushed like the worthless maggot he is. And neither did the Errant.
Laseen did nothing wrong.

That actually reminds me of the other thing I was waiting for.
Kallor breaking his curse, ascending and becoming the new representative of the Orb card.

I couldn't stand Karsa Orlang either. I can't stand this guy walking around like he is the top shit. Sure he killed a few demons and he can swing a sword well. The biggest feat to his name is killing two Derangoth because as he stated they were arrogant and exposed there bellies forgetting that he had a giant stone sword. Apart from that he has never faced any of the big players in the Malazan world. He didn't cross swords with Dassem when he had the chance, he was humbled when he saw both Rake and Dassem fight, he was run down to exhaustion by Ryllandaras (divers not Soletaken). He couldn't register Icarium's sword swing when he was calm and he got knocked out by Urko when he was expecting a punch. Whenever he comes up against the big players he always comes out second best but he keeps walking around like he is the strongest being. It doesn't help that SE want's him to be one of the most important characters in the story so makes him do this bad ass stuff while keeping him away from the really strong characters.

He's also friends with Torvald Nom which makes all points disupting Karsa's badassery irrelevant.

Alright you win. Damn you, playing the Torvald Nom card. I should have seen it coming.

Oh. Well shit. So many things...
Hood's War against Death
Gothos' story - I want details - getting a race of the most powerful and percipient creatures to destroy their own (presumably sweeping) civilization and scatter its stones.
Icarium completely losing it.
The heyday of the KCM.
How Pust is really a mortal incarnation thingy of ST.
The hell is that donkey tho.
Tiam (and Silanah's) interaction with Rake.
So much more about that Azathanai.
Rake's sojourn to the Segula Isles.
Whiskeyjack meeting Hood for the first time.
The Skinner and Second conflict - original and follow up.
A hell of a lot about Tay.
I pretty much want the whole series re-written through Quick Ben's eyes.
Cotillions final withdrawal.
So much more.

I like it when the author can surprise me. Like when the Raest vs Rake fight didnt happen for me it wasn't very dissappointing at all.
It's been some time since i read RG (i am re reading the entire series now though), but to my recollection the Karsa vs Icarium fight didn't really happen right? I was kinda thinking they would have some big fight, even thought it was a done deal.

I cannot quite decide whether the finale of FoL fits into this category or not.
We sort of saw what happened, but not exactly.

Not that it was foreshadowed in any way, but Malek Rel and Korbolo Dom escaping the summary justice they so richly deserve still cheeses me off.
What is not forbidden is mandatory.

Their fall saved the empire from a civil war. Tavore understood this.
...I regret we didn't see Quick Ben in his soletaken form, I'm still curious about this. And I think not following up on Felising Younger and Apocalypse Army was a wasted opportunity, but I haven't read Esslemont's novels beyond RotCG.
Quick Ben's soletaken form is a platypus. I've been telling you all this for years.
...
Quick Ben's soletaken form is not a can of mixed nuts? (including acorns, of course)

The Bridgebuners undergoing their version of the Ritual of Tellann and becoming a new undead army of the Empire.
