I have mixed feelings about him, he is is shithead but still he isn't all bad. Karsa Orlong was the one i couldn't stand but he will probably live on forever.

I couldn't stand Karsa Orlang either. I can't stand this guy walking around like he is the top shit. Sure he killed a few demons and he can swing a sword well. The biggest feat to his name is killing two Derangoth because as he stated they were arrogant and exposed there bellies forgetting that he had a giant stone sword. Apart from that he has never faced any of the big players in the Malazan world. He didn't cross swords with Dassem when he had the chance, he was humbled when he saw both Rake and Dassem fight, he was run down to exhaustion by Ryllandaras (divers not Soletaken). He couldn't register Icarium's sword swing when he was calm and he got knocked out by Urko when he was expecting a punch. Whenever he comes up against the big players he always comes out second best but he keeps walking around like he is the strongest being. It doesn't help that SE want's him to be one of the most important characters in the story so makes him do this bad ass stuff while keeping him away from the really strong characters.

I like it when the author can surprise me. Like when the Raest vs Rake fight didnt happen for me it wasn't very dissappointing at all.
It's been some time since i read RG (i am re reading the entire series now though), but to my recollection the Karsa vs Icarium fight didn't really happen right? I was kinda thinking they would have some big fight, even thought it was a done deal.
