This week was great.

This show lost me/us at the end of last season. Far too much suspension of disbelief became required to buy what was happening. We watched the S5 premier but none of us wanted to go on. Its a shame too, this show had a lot of unexplored potential back in the first couple seasons.

Read the synopsis for S5 ender....jumping them 125 years into the future and leaving an irreparably damaged earth behind for a new planet...is EXACTLY what they needed to do to get this back into what made it great.

The fact that S5 essentially REDOES the apocalypse and RE-makes earth uninhabitable...just shows they had no idea what to do there next. Going forward, setting the whole story onto a new planet 125 years in the future is a perfect slate cleaning.

Also, ditching the serial killer prison villain of S5 (McCreary) is only going to benefit the show...as is pushing Octavia back into the light she spent so long out of.

Also, S5 ends with an on screen credit that says "End of Book 1"....and I'm like....holy fuck, 5 seasons is only Book 1? Crazy!

Anyways, the wife and I are going to jump back in and see if S6 can grab us back.

Totally crazy. We haven't watched S6 Ep1 yet (probably tonight along with the latest CHERNOBYL Ep)...but just the prospect of a new planet, and new trials and tribulations in that environment makes things better. In the end I only care that Clarke and Bellamy end up together though....let's be real.
