I think Gothos was around that age. Lady A was 14, Brood 14, I was 16... in the ChrisW and Rake days this place was run by kids :p

They made me an admin!!!! That should tell you all you need to know about the state of affairs!

They made Apt an Admin also....your argument is invalid.

Then Silencer sobered up. Heho

He still didn't sober up enough to make me a mod. I'd drain all the fun from this place.

Depressingly old! I turn 30 this year, January was my 13th anniversary on the site too. The mind boggles!

I really do have some good memories of this place. I don't come around as much anymore, but this was my first real internet hangout and the only one I ever felt any connection to.

I think Reddit fucked things up. It does some things better than this site on a bigger scale, and I think people don't go in for smaller more personal sites as much anymore. Why argue with 50 people when you can scream at 5 million? It's so impersonal though.

I think you'll be surprised. There is still a general desire to feel part of a recognisable group and chat with people with recognisable personalities and interests. I don't think that will ever disappear. The one does not exclude the other. People can have a presence on Reddit -and- actively contribute to smaller niche interest sites. I read big Reddit-style forums, but I also have several dedicated niche areas that I frequent (I even mod on one) and a small niche sports website that I actively contribute content to. And I see very similar things all around me with friends and colleagues.

So yeah, have faith in the world and your fellow men :)

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

This may be true, but do don't change the fact that activity on this site plummeted as Reddit became more popular.

Is that that site that's like 4chan but with screen names and exponentially more subcategories to sort gifs into?

A guy I asked with asked for fantasy recommendations the other day and said he'd heard mbotf was good. I firstly had to control my premature ejaculation at the prospect of work nerd company, and then realised I've been absent from here for a disgusting amount of time. So, jumping on to skywalker's thing, what have I missed in the last couple of years?! Relieved to see morgy is still alive, I was convinced the horror that is akevitt would have claimed him by now....

I unthinkingly made a Toblakai/Toblerone joke last September in the Deadhouse Gates forum, forgetting that your name already did this joke (and well). When I finally realized what I'd done, I felt shame, but I did not delete my joke or acknowledge the replication, causing even more shame.
