Did he? I forgot about that.

It's emphasized more in the books. He's always reaching up to touch them and finding them gone. In the show, I can't remember how often he mentioned it but you can see that they're not around his neck when he washes up on that island.

Yeah, it's been awhile since I've read ASoS or AFfC. You're likely right on the Shireen front then.

As the Starks prepare to fight, Davos loses something dear. Ramsay plays a game. Daenerys faces a choice.
I wonder what Davos loses. What does he even have to lose at this point? I wonder if this signifies him learning about Shireen. These summaries often end up being ironic understatements. Wonder what Dany's choice is, whether it has something to do with Tyrion or not. I imagine Ramsey's game has something to do with Rickon.

Isn't there a very quick glimpse of Davos kneeling in the remains of a fire in the trailer? Must be Shireen... I wonder what he's going to do about that? Mels been keeping a low profile.. could Davos even take her out?

So far we've seen how the various Gods can protect their followers, so if the fm are in fact given something extra from the pool or whatever I'd go with that - it would kind of make sense for the assassins to have a strength/health boost. (But you know, if Ned had said ' Not today!' I bet his head still would have fallen off).

As for Jaqen/Syrio - I take it that because Jaqen appeared in the dungeon after Syrio vanished that it looks like his escape?

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Yeah, the going theory involves that coincidence. The argument against is that the First Sword of Braavos does not run. And it doesn't seem likely that he would be arrested rather than simply killed; there is nothing about his skill in battle that would produce that outcome.

Here's an interesting interview with Jaqen's actor about the last episode:

You can tell he doesn't know any more than we do about Jaqen's intentions.

So: who's ready to see Sansa kill a man in episode 609?
I'm making my prediction now. Sansa kills a man before the end of the season, most likely at the end of The Battle of the Bastards - and you can guess who I'm thinking of.

I'm calling it here first. "First."

Anyhoo, regarding all the debating over Arya: they botched it, kinda sucks, we gotta let it go and move on. As I've moaned numerous times: SO MUCH WASTED POTENTIAL.

Not until next week, according to Wert. I think the actor who plays Ned is the giveaway; he's credited next week.

I have a hunch that this episode will feature some kind of battle.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

That... was amazing.

RIP Rickon
RIP Wun-Wun
RIP Smalljon Umber (I guess)

As for Ramsey, I like to think he'll be a while in the dying. No RIP for him yet.

Next week looks amazing too. Can't wait!

Peter in the preview... "I thought you knew what I wanted." By the heart tree.

That tiny shot of Bran wasn't enough! Looks like he might possibly be at the Wall.

Asha and Dany are totally gonna scissor next Ep. That was really rushed but whatever the battles made up for that small bit.

I liked that they managed to work Theon into the episode where Ramsay finally gets got.

Good wildfire foreshadowing with Tyrion.

I agree, that was probably the best episode of the show so far. And that was absolutely one of the best battle scenes I've ever seen. This director should do every episode :)

I wonder if Littlefinger will be the one to tell Jon about Lyanna. Or if he'll just figure it out on his own. Sansa knew the "rape" story...I'm guessing he does too. I just read a bit in the books where Bran mentions it; I guess all the kids know. But Littlefinger already hinted to Sansa that it wasn't rape.

Tormund confirmed Lord of the Last Hearth. He took out the Smalljon; it's his. It's also the closest castle to the Wall. I figured they'd give him Karhold or the Dreadfort, but the Last Hearth is even better.

Fun episode if a tad predictable. But hey Ramsey is fed to his dogs, so how can it be bad?

Minor quibble #1: Shireen was burned at the snowed in camp that wasn't close enough to Winterfell to fight. But now that's Jon's base pre-battle?

Minor quibble #2: Except for transparent plot drama, there is no good reason for Sansa to not mention to Jon that she has asked Littlefinger to help and he has an army ready at Moat Cailin. I mean, Jon's plan went to hell anyway, so maybe any plan to coordinate would have too when Rickon was killed. Still, kind of handy information

Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

Sansa's little smile as she walked away at the end was perfect.

Mmmm. That was a lovely episode.

Frankly, I don't know how to adequately deal with an actual Stark win.

Mind is blown.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

That banner unfurling was lovely, wasn't it?

Now I'm wondering what exactly is going to go down at the Twins with Jaime. The Freys and the Lannisters send their regards? To whom? Wouldn't it be the shit if Jaime became the Walderslayer? Probably too much to hope for, eh?

Why on earth is Jaime at the Twins anyway? Didn't he say he was in a hurry to get back to King's Landing and Cersei?

Immediately wanted Rickon to zig zag.
And yes, the banner unfurling feeling great.
I also expected dogs. Why would Ramsay hold them in reserve?

An episode with 'justice' and a Stark win. It's a weird feeling.

I also totally called it on my Twitter about 5 hours ago: "Sansa will kill her first man tonight."

There was something I absolutely loved about Drogon and the other dragon floating there BURNINATING the ship while the third dragon flew loops doing its own thing. Like it just didn't feel like burning things that way.

Now let's see how King's Landing goes down.

My Dorkshelf Fan vs Fan video review will be up by tomorrow! It was a good one this week.

I just read some spoilers for next week. Be wary; major ones are out there. The thing I read was actually spoilers for the whole season, including tonight, which have thus far turned out to be mostly correct. I say "mostly" because they got some details slightly wrong, like that Ramsey would end tonight's episode a prisoner and that he would be attacked by "mysterious dog-like creatures" in the beginning of ep 10. That's about as wrong as these spoilers get.

Okay, next week BBQ at Baelors sept, with wildfire

Would Daenerys without Tyrion end up as Daenerys the Mad?

Poor Davos.

So Dany will come to Westeros next season. Took just over sixty episodes.

Sad for Rickon. Another actor coming back for two episodes just to get killed.

Jon is surely not cold iron, he messed everything up. Stupid Jon. But Sansa is. Sansa becomes creppy in the end. But it was Ramsey. A fitting end.
So, don't follow Jon, he is a bad leader. Follow Sansa.
