meh, she's a nosy asshole. I'd tell her to mind her own business. After all Jaime has been a role model for lil Ian. Lil Ian has gained so much valuable knowledge under Jaime's tutelage, that she should be grateful that Jaime pretty much has showed him how to be a man. The least she could do is not second guess who has captured his heart. She's a GRADE A ASSHOLE. End of story.

Agreed...though they did a solid job of her friendship with Pound. Poor kid.
It's hard not to dislike Marsali and assume she's like her mother...when her heart is really in the right place...we just haven't seen it yet.

Ep. 9 The Doldrums
* Smart. Don't let asshole sister know what has happened to young Ian. I agree with that decision 100%.
* Uh oh. On the ship why does the crew keep touching the post with the horse shoe nailed to it?
* Ah. Seafaring superstitions. I get it.
* Lol @ Fergus not bedding her yet.
* Lol @ daughter (who keeps calling Claire an English whore) having to bunk with Claire on the ship.
* Dayum. Fergus was a man whore before courting the daughter.
* Lol @ "A woman's bare breasts calm an angry sea". Damn, it must be hard for Claire not to outright laugh and ridicule these superstitions of the 1700s.
* TIL the figurehead at the prow of ships often featured a bare breasted woman figure for these superstitious reasons.

* Damn. Claire is getting seriously deep in her conversation with the captain at dinner. Much food for thought for the captain to consider.
* Lol @ Yi Tien Cho (aka Mr. Willoughby) suggestion to Jaime regarding remedy for what can happen when you wretch too much from sea sickness. *SnipSnip
* Lol @ the way the daughter says "whore".
* Lol @ Yi Tien Cho's treatment for sea sickness. Claire understands acupuncture but the rest of the crew?
* Uh oh. No wind. Superstition grows. Possible mutiny?
* Awww. Claire misses Brianna. I wonder if Brianna will ever follow Claire and pass through the stones.
* Lol @ "What's a eunuch?" "I'll tell ya later".
* Lol @ Yi Tien Cho: "Their beauty blossoms like lotus flowers." | "The taste of their breasts like apricots." | "The scent of a navel in the winter." | "The warmth of a mound that fills your hand llike a ripe peach." Guy has a career in erotic fiction if he wants it.
* We have wind!
* Awww. They liked Yi Tien Cho's poem.
* We have rain!
* Dayum! Sexy time on the ship. Rockin' each other's worlds yet again.
*Lol @ "blazing shits."
* Claire must uphold her physician's oath. Dammit!
* What a fulfilling adventure so far for Claire. Chasing down young Ian, knocking boots on the ship, and now spreading her doctor's wings by helping out the crew of the Porpoise suffering from typhoid fever.
*Lol at the funk emanating from below decks where all the sick crew are. Vomiting and blazing shits can't smell good.

* Does it turn for the better? Or does the adventure turn for the worse? Stay tuned for next week's action packed episode to find out!

Huh, interest in this seems to have fizzled out. Funny how that happens.
Anywhoo, finally cleared enough time in my calendar to watch the Season 3 finale.
- I think I understand how it works. See, Claire has a pure/sincere love that connects her, so she can pass through without offering a blood sacrifice, whilst for Geillis to pass through, she has to offer a sacrifice. That's how I think it works anyway, I could be wrong.
- Welp, no more passing through for Geillis. I think the 200 year old baby prophesy will still be a thing though. Nice call back to the skull her physician colleague/mentor described when Claire was back in 1960s Boston.
- Boy though, after things were resolved (and before the storm), the show sure did lay it on thick with the ooey gooey romance sappiness. We get it by now, they are deeply in love with one another, quit with the fan service in that regard, kay show runners? I'm sure there wasn't a dry pair of panties in the audience. <<<<<< see what I did there?

- Then the storm. There wasn't a dry pair of panties on the ship (literally) after that <<<<<<< see what I did there?
That's how the Titanic should have ended.
- In Georgia for next season. woop! woop!
- Oh and that sneak peak at a scene from next season though, amirite?

I didn't mind it too much if only because I knew that they could never do it justice in the time allotted in one season. SO much happens in the 3rd book.
I find I'm accepting of the changes the show is making because I KNOW the next two books are SLOGS and the tidying up of their storylines will be VERY welcome to me. I also hope the focus stays on Jaime and Claire and doesn't pull what the books did which was shift it to Brianna and Roger too much.
At any rate, getting them onto the mainland US now with the better parts of the book 4 and 5 storylines on their way...should be good times next season.

Yeah, it's a little weird...but honestly, it seems more like the show wanted to be nicer to him than Gabaldon was since he never shows up again.

Droughtlander update:
Season 4 finished filming! Cat and Sam announced it on the Outlander FB page.
Debuts in November 2018. Long wait, but it will give me time to read Book 6 beforehand to tide me over.

Aw shucky ducky! They gonna rock each other's worlds, American Colonies style! Damn, when she found that jaw bone with silver fillings, does that mean there's another "outlander". Man, I should really read the books, huh? Got no time though, too busy,

Hesitant to watch trailer as I haven’t read bk 4. Don’t want to spoil anything for my eventual read after Fitz.
Hmm....there is not TOO much here to spoil you from the main glut of the story (aside from the new place where it takes place, which you already know about from the end of Book 3) that occurs in the book. The biggest reveals are not in there...but there is one development they reference that you might consider a spoiler. Give it a wide berth if you want to be totally unspoiled.
That said, it confirms the show returns in November.

Sorry QT I don’t think it’s likely I’ll be watching from the get go(unless a miracle happens and I suddenly learn how to speed read), I’ve made to small a progess to feel comfortable watching the show without fearing I ll see bits and hints of things I haven’t yet read. I ll be tuning in very late into, possibly even after the season run. I will definitely have to manage my time better and start bk 5 well ahead of crunch time next season... I got to into Malazan/Fitz power re reads even though I knew this needed to be started.
No worries man. Take your time. we can compare notes down the road.

Really solid all the way to the end...the last few minutes though with Stephen Bonnett and his crew attacking the Fraser’s as they head to River Run was set to modern music...which was hella weird and didn’t fit.
But yeah, solid opener nonetheless.

Because the actor who plays Jenny is on Broadway and could not reprise her role this season...it's Laoghaire that finds Bree when she arrives in the past now instead of Jenny...and it adds a whole new dimension to that sequence because Laoghaire is fucking PISSED. It made me extra glad Ian Sr. is still there though.
Oh, and Roger on the ship with smallpox was WELL done. I think the actor who plays him is going to help me like Roger more than I do in the books. We shall see.

To add to the discussion, Jamie is reunited with Murtagh at Fraser's Ridge, which I guess is different from the books (haven't read the books, don't plan to).
Two episodes behind from the current, but for my money, this season has been sort of crap, tbh. Not enough sexy time and rocking each other's worlds. My super creamy hand lotion and man napkins haven't gotten the use they should have now.

Holy shit! George Washington!
Lol
Washington - I spent my youth in Virginia.
Claire - Chopping down cherry trees. <awkward pause> Is what a young boy would do.
Also Lol. There's always a loop-hole when wanting to getting your carrot wet.
