Just out. Odd film. Very odd.
I liked some parts and loathed with a passion many others. Some good chocies by Synder and some terrible choices.
Editing at parts was absurd and I am long past finished with Hans Zimmer. Yet Batfleck was great and I thought Esienberg was good. A weird cacophony of a film. Rather like the end baddie that they have to fight actually!
A DVD where you will skip to the great parts and never view again the bad again. And there is a lot of bad.

I think Snyder was trying very hard to lay down the interpretation of Superheroes as modern day myths.
(hence Luthors' repeated comments about Prometheus) but doesn't quite pull it off (imnsho)
Affleck was damn good as the Bat though.
It's an interesting film. will be curious to see the extended version too.
I think if I'm honest I'd like to have seen someone else now handle the big JL movies over Snyder...just to see another vision and style.
I have a small feeling that both the Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman will set a completly different tone, and as a result might course correct the stuff amiss with the main films.
I DO want to see a brighter superman now going forward. And I want a bromance with Bats too. I think we've largely dealt with the brooding stuff for Superman, and going fwd he should be allowed to be the bastion of light he is in the comics.

Just saw this. I fully agree. The fact that this became viral and no one is commenting on JUST how scuzzy and assholish this question is shows me that everyone just wants the clicks and piling on.
This question is the equivalent of interviewing someone about their art...and then telling them that some people think it's garbage, and then asking how they feel about that.
Cavill is nice about it, but I'd have told the guy where to go. I seriously would have either called him out for being a shitty human, or left the interview. As it stands, Affleck's reaction to me feels much more like him reacting to how shitty a question it is, rather than him being sad about the film he's in.
And he's a GREAT Batman.

And if I don't miss my guess, that thing with the horns is Steppenwolf, one of Darkseid's generals...and three Mother Boxes (like the one from the Cyborg cameo).
That is pretty awesome and would explain why Lex has knowledge of such things in his scene at the end.

Yep I know I missed out on things not knowing anything about comics. I just thought it was a bad movie. The way the fight ended was corny to me after all that build up of hate. Then 2 mins later

I was just sitting there shaking my head in frustration as was the random dude on my left. Oh well I saw it once atleast with no need or want to see it again. One of my friends really liked it the other said he needed to sleep on it and I haven't heard what he thinks yet but I bet we are 2 to 1 on it.

I think the intention here was not that their moms share the same name, but rather Bruce realizing that Superman isn't just some symbol that could kill us all...but he has a mother. He has a family. He grew up in the same country. It takes the wind out of Bruce's sails of anger, and once he's made that turn... going to save a Martha (when he could not save his own Martha), someones mother...is beyond important. And what else would you say to her but "Your son sent me."? That's how I read it anyways. The importance here is the jaded Batman having a moment of revelation (even when Alfred could not get through to him) that shows him that he should trust Clark. Snyder tied it into the whole movie by opening the credits with the Wayne's murder and focusing on Bruce's bereftness with the loss of specifically his mom.
It actually all leads to my fave Batman moment in the entire film. Bruce NOT branding Lex at the end, and instead just punching the wall beside his head. It's Batman beginning to revert to the person he was before he started to get old and jaded with Gotham. The Batman who started the movie isn't the one who ends it. I like that progression.

Just saw it today, thought it was realy good. i thought Afflecks batman was really good. On the other hand my friend who went to see it with me thought it was terrible and thought affleck was one of the worst batmans, but he really like Lex luthor (who i have mixed opinions about). He also thinks Batman could take Superman in a fight though so take his opinion with a pinch of salt

I was a bit confused by the visions, as they seemed to add nothing to the film and just came across as odd, maybe they'll be relevant in upcoming films. The thing i did like was how they clearly showed that Superman could have easily beaten Batman but lost because he didnt want to beat him.

There are two different reviews of BvS:DoJ up on my website: The first is Spoiler Free and the second is not so spoiler free as it refers to things covered in the trailers.
My friend wrote the first one and I think he enjoyed the film a little more than I did. My main problem was this particular incarnation of Superman.
But I did like Affleck as Batman. I thought he was great.
