With Snyder you're gonna get style over substance every time, but he won't necessarily destroy substance if it's already there in the script (eg Man of Steel, imo), and he's fine if you luck out and style is all that's necessary (eg Dawn of the Dead -- not that I don't prefer the style and substance of the original). But if you have a bad or mediocre script, he's probably not going to improve one second of it. He probably should be making music videos instead of movies.

Ratner on the other hand is a creative black hole where all hope goes to die.
