I'm good with we faction leaders telling PS to resolve now with those who haven't submitted resolving with all courtiers and units "as is". Any others?

Agreed. Everyone has had from Wednesday to get it in and right.

Well I didn't get a PM saying I screwed up AGAIN. So my actions must be okay.

I'm actually surprised that it's not all resolved yet! :headbang:

Seriously though, if someone hasn't submitted their actions since last Wednesday, well, that just seems like a LOT of time to not do something we're supposed to get 2 days to do, usually.

17th time lucky?

I think anyone who can't get actions in after 2 days should lose out - set a time to cut off and enforce it, like a normal timeout. Dragging days out like this kills any kind of momentum and makes it more of a chore than a game.

Well, since everyone echoed that sentiment... I will go and resolve.

Sending out the excels.
Please note that I will not send out PMs with resolution; too much copy/pasting, not enough clarity.
Sorry about that, but not so sorry time-wise.

I got no complaints with just using the excel, format is so much more friendly to the mechanics of the game than trying to figure it out through text.

The clock for day 3 is on, btw, for 12 minutes already.

47 hours, 38 minutes. Let's do more than a page of posts this time around.

This really feels like a tabletop game. Can we all, like, get together in a mass video chat or something? :headbang:

I reckon it would still take several hours to do if we were all in real time communication with each other, and there isn't a lot of discussion between non faction leaders required. Not that I think it wouldn't work, but it would be somewhat like here where there is an unexpectedly low amount of banter/discussion. If there was a random lynch in the event of a no lynch that would go a long way to getting people active I think.

I have been thinking a bit on how to convert it - I definately feel there's something that can be hugely entertaining there. One thing I would do, is drop the 3 players per faction idea for a table top.
Make a player play an entire faction with a single estate instead of having 1 role in a faction, create an always active "core" ability like now, plus 3 faction specific unique abilities, perhaps each with a figurine or something. It would be a lot more nervous and a lot more stabby, but it could be fun.
Army creation would need a lot of simplification though, not sure how that would work without losing some or all of the current depth there is to the system.

But this is a puzzle that I will spend quite some time on - I like tinkering and I might try and develop something actually working as a board game out of it, then go bankrupt trying to launch it.

It may have been more awesome if every player was a faction to themselves. Scrap the dynastic victory and have every person fight for pieces on the board. Trying to own those central squares. what if everyone had the same abilities but chose their own path to victory. I'm loving this game.

I think the dynastic victory doesn't deserve the bad rep you all give it...
It requires a lot of planning, quite some territory and a decent military to get away with it, and there are plenty of counters to it.... that it is a largely invisible victory in the mafia set-up is a problem, yes, but still, not something that makes it a "dirty" win.

Dynastic victory is looked down on somewhat because it relies on NOT interacting with others on the map or the game thread. To win an elimination game you have to have a strong presence on the thread, to win a military victory you have to have a strong presence on the map. To win a dynastic victory you have to sit in the corner hoarding rescoures and racing against the clock for when someone finds you.
