I have friends who keep ridiculous libraries of movies, so I can just borrow those but I will have to hit the cinema. Hmm. I think I might go do a midday sunday viewing or something - Even if I feel too poor to buy a cinema ticket. I love having a whole theatre for myself.

BP is amazing and worthy of the theatre visit anyways. Enjoy!

Eh, I was never a fan of Black Panther as a kid. as such I've been pretty unimpressed with all this hype. The cynic in me thinks it's just the progressive kids hyping it up because it's Afro Futurism the movie but the reviews do seem very positive.

If it wasn't for the fact that it ties directly into the wider story arch I wouldn't care.

You needn't be a fan of Black Panther to enjoy it. Honestly.

It is a tight, well-constructed, acted, scored, written, and directed film. It would be this even if it wasn't a Marvel flick. It's easily in my top 3 for the whole MCU.

It makes me want Disney to let Ryan Coogler write and direct a Star Wars movie. He's really quite an impressive guy who knows what he's doing in the film universe.

I'd go so far as to say that GotG2, Thor3, and BP are 3 of the best entries in the MCU. Certainly 3 of the most enjoyable.

100% agree with that. GotG 2 was one of my favorite movies of 2017 period.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I think I like Thanos' henchmen better than Thanos himself, but I guess that's fine.

The movie looks fun.

Captain America's hair is stupid.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

I didn't like the first one much but this looks like it's got a better handle on things, especially the action, and a potentially cool villain, so I'm hopeful.

Man those jokes are awful (like, from a comedic standpoint) and pretty gross besides. I like his movies (quite a bit) and it's pretty clear that was all meant to be shock humor (from a dude who basically started his career at Troma, no less), and I tend to believe him when he says he put that kind of humor away, but whatevs. The sooner we run through all the white dudes doing winky face hell jokes, the sooner we might get Howard Stern's and Seth MacFarlane's heads on spikes. Anything is worth that.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Haven't seen any of the tweets, I assume they're pretty raw from the reaction on social media.

Query, as I'm in the bar and can't be arsed looking, are they flat out offensive tweets or failed attempts at dark comedy?

Words are for reading, apologies worry, so it's a hold over from when he was trying to shock comedy and is now being castigated for it?

I chalk this one up to people determined to find something on everyone to ruin their lives.

He's always been creep in my book. Unlikely a 51 year old man has changed since sending those tweets. Some wise commentator (can't remember who it was) once said - "listen to people, they will tell you who they are". I like GotG though. Still need to see the second one.

Spoiler'd for size. Also, be forewarned, outright disgusting tweets ahead.

Spoiler

Holy fuck, I take that back.

I assumed (for some reason) that Gunn was quite young (like 30) and these were a few tweets sent back in his early twenties as a form of the black/shock comedy thing. Not that plethora of what the fuck
