I might just be paranoid and seeing Jorg everywhere but as soon as we get the scene with Irad and Jaspeth and we get their description, something told my brain we've heard that before...
We do not get many other POV scenes where people describe what Jorg looks like but quickly looking at Chella and Katherine we get...
Quote
' He sat on the bench opposite them, legs stretched out, boots muddy on the floor, at perfect ease.
He flicked the long black tangles of his hair back across his shoulders, watching her with dark eyes, amusement touching the sharp angles of his face.
And...
Quote
His face sharp and complicated.
Then when we meet Irad and Jaspeth the description reads...
Quote
The man on the left sat upright, a regal gravitas to the planes and angles of his face that was never present in King Oanold's, not even in the flattery stamped upon the realm's coins.
Dark hair curled from beneath a silver circlet to frame his features. The blade of his nose reminded Arpix strangely of Carlotte.
...
The man occupying the other throne lounged in his seat. He shared sufficient similarities with the librarian that he might be a younger brother.
The same dark curls, though longer and unkempt. The same prominent nose and dark, watchful eyes, though with a glint of humour.
The stubble on chin and cheeks might, with another week, constitute a beard.
Similar, neh?
Then there is the comment...
Quote
'My family has a poor history with fratricide. We invented it.
And you can say yes that is just referring to the biblical connections and the family history of Cain/Abel and we are saying it's Irad / Jaspeth (Japheth)...
But also the Ancarth's have a history of fratricide...
Why Jaspeth/Japheth and apart from the looks the connection with Jorg..? You have the comment about having many names but...
Going back to Prince of Thorns, we meet a wee little pair of monsters who Jorg adopts and calls Gog and Magog...
From King of Thorns, Katherine says:
Quote
The monster-child is called Gog. He says Jorg named him, after those giants in the bible. I told him there should be a Magog too.
Who is Magog with the Gog story? The second son of Japheth if you go the Bible route!
Another thing too... Jaspeth/Japheth loves fire and we know Jorg and fire!
All this would make part of the setting where we last see Jorg, uploading himself and would make something like the library possible... and why we see city names to Broken Empire series.
So aye, there could be something there... or I am just crazy and hoping!!
