The signed hardback deluxe super edition trilogy boxset of the red queens war trilogy you promised would prove useful

Happy Christmas / New Year, you lot.

This here is a short story collection accompanying The Library Trilogy. Just thought I'd mention it!

Hooray!

The short storys seem to be pretty popular - which is good.

So I um....won a giveaway.

Mark was doing a giveaway on social media for this swanky "locked tomb" edition of THE BOOK THAT WOULD NOT BURN, and I entered (not dreaming I would ever win) and woke up this morning to a notification and a PM from Mark that I'd won. Which is insane and I was crazy happy and felt super lucky.

And do you want to know what the first thing I thought of was?

...Macros is going to be SO jealous and he's going curse Canadian luck again, and then plan a drunken excursion to my house to heist it from me...

So I have returned to you now, at the turn of the tide...to make Macros jealous.

--------

On a serious note, thanks again Mark (whenever you visit us next), it's going to be a display item on my shelf for sure.

I'll post pics of my entire Lawrence collection on my shelf at the new house when said swanky edition arrives.

Hooray!

Did it arrive yet?

So long after the Canada Post Strike was over, and I still hadn't received it due to said strike and the backlog, and then after we moved house (while thankfully still paying attention to the mail at the old address due to it still being owned by my Father-in-Law) I began to worry that the Post had lost it, but I just got a notification that it's at the old Condo now and I can go and get it. Phew!

Pictures of the "Lawrence shelf" with the new volume incoming later this week!

I promised I would show a photo of my Lawrence collection once I got the Locked Library copy of THE BOOK THAT WOULDN’T BURN that I won, so here you all go!

Thanks again Mark! I love it! Spoilered for size. Appearance by one of the suits of armour my mom bought me years ago for my shelf.

I just bought it despite not having the other two in hard copy. That is a gorgeous book! Do you do custom signatures? Could you write "Dear Simeon, you are better than QT and Macros" inside?

Thanks! 😉

I just see the first three Malazan books at 140 pounds and wonder if I can convince my wife to buy them for me lol.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

With those ones they had an issue with the paper and it's really thin with ghosting but if it's just to look pretty why not. I've got that set ordered for the books where they reprinted on thicker paper.

One thing to note too, if you are going to go for the full series print, I don't know if you will get invited to buy early like everyone else who ordered the 1-3 books a while ago.

Broken Binding really do throw out some beautiful books, I have The Broken Empire series in special editions from there. Just resisted buying into the Hyperion series that looked awesome.

If it's just to look pretty I think that I'd prefer a hologram. Especially if it's a smart hologram that can call up your favorite quotations and make the text larger (or gigantic), superimpose it over related passages, etc.

And much as I like the ancient Chinese idea of calligraphy as an infusion of one's life force through the flow of the unique moment of its creation instead of standard Western signatures I think I might be more interested in some sort of biometric rhythmic scrawl based on the author's reading in the moment of a (brief) passage of your choice---like maybe an EEG or a little lie detector... presumably as (or more) uniquely varied as each signature (depending on how chaotic it is...) (since we must have scarcity---and authentic flows).

I would if I could - but they were all signed weeks ago.
