Chapter 40...

After this part, pretty sure it's going to turn out to be...

Spoiler

Plus it makes the most sense for the context of this book...

Guess will see...

Finished it up...

I have similar thoughts to how I felt about The Girl and the Stars. A good book, better than most out there but I wasn't blown away like I usually am, it felt very much a first book set-up. It was the final page that got me the most hype.

As I was getting to the end I was totally deflated when...

Spoiler

I think a lot of people will read it though and think it's Mark Lawrence's best wrote book, structure, themes etc.

And I really cannot wait for book two!

More thoughts to follow.

I see you quite a lot in that Fantasy Faction book but this is better! Currently reading The Book that Wouldn't Burn and while it's probably the slowest of your stories I've read, it is an utterly fascinating world.

Good to hear. And by strange coincidence ... book 2 is out in 8 or 10 days (US / UK).

I must say Mark that I'm enjoying the little jokes in the quotes from other texts at the beginning of each chapter - firstly the one that was from Prince of Thorns, quoting yourself gave me a good chuckle. And I just read the one that was from a book called Appetite for Destruction by Rose L. Axe hah

Good to hear!

And since I wrote 69 of the 70 epigraphs, I am, technically, quoting myself in almost every one of them :)

Really enjoyed this book, despite it being a little slower than the other Lawrence books. Am so getting the next one.

@Mark - any plans to write some of the books mentioned within the novel? ;)

Have fun!

The short story, Bound, sits between those two books and could be a fun read too!
