Mark Lawrence wrote the web serial Gunlaw which you can read for free on Wattpad and he is rumored to have teamed up with another author to write The Tower and Knife trilogy under the pen name Mazarkis Williams. I was reading his blog and he mentioned a thriller he had written recently. He is a writing machine.

Finished Red sister while on vacation. It was an excellent read. Mark continues to keep me hooked on his books, which is very much appreciated!

Now that I've read Grey sister he should probably just go ahead and release the final book in the trilogy

Just saying

It would be selfish of him not to.

Thoughts at just over the halfway mark of RED SISTER.

Spoiler

Still such an amazing book, with such vivid characters!

Yes,
Spoiler

Just finished listening to the Broken Empire, Red Queen's War, and first two Book of the Ancestor novels. The last two novels weren't necessarily 'better' in a literary sense but they seemed significantly more addictive (or maybe I just wanted to retreat from reality more than usual? not sure). Each book has had flashes of imagistic genius. However, in terms of literary merit, I thought Grey Sister might have been one of the weakest---
Spoiler

It's frustrating that the third book has already been finished but (the publisher is mandating---for marketing reasons?) it won't be published until next April. Hopefully ML will continue revising it and start to extend his flashes of greatness over wider periods and improve some of his less laudable habits, like overly predictable endgame plotting and over-reliance on coincidence (the worst of both worlds!), that are really more suited to YA fare. Personally I hope he goes in a less 'commercial' / 'cranking out the quasi-YA page-turners' direction towards more of a literary and philosophical tilt.

I recently finished both Red and Grey Sister which encouraged me to start a Broken Empire/Red Queen's War series reread. Just about to finish King of Thorns and damn... I'm loving these books just as much on my third read through as I did on my first read through...

Still cannot stand the "Justice" scene from King though...

As previously mentioned, you can see the Anthony Ryan influence in the Book of the Ancestor series, especially the first one, Red Sister. I thought the pacing was off a bit in that book but Grey was an absolute page turner.

I would love to read a book on Zole and her POV...

Is there any confirmation on how many books we'll get in the Book of the Ancestor series? I had in my mind that it was a trilogy but also think that I may have read somewhere there is a plan for 4-5 books?!

Does anyone pronounce Jorge as 'Horhey' as opposed to 'George'?

I pronounce it like George but with a soft j which doesn't really make sense in English I guess.

I pronounce it as if it were German: YORG -uh (but the second syllable is almost nonexistent, just the slightest puff of breath.) (curse you, Abyss!)

Nah he's Jorg in my copy, so pretty much as it reads in my head anyways - Jorg or Yorg, but no syllable after the g, which is hard rather than in George.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I just started Prince of Fools this week. I'm surprised how far behind his releases I am.

Oh, yeah, it is just Jorg (YORG). Where in the Abyss did Abyss get "Jorge" from?

Heh, ...earbooking tends to mess up fantasy lit name spelling. I saw the name that way elseforum and didn't think twice.

I call him hard J hard G Jorg mostly. But I do call him Jorge, Boy George, or even Georgie when I feel like it.
