Little did I know when I gave the character a simple 4 letter name that how to pronounce it would be my 2nd more popular question on Goodreads...

https://www.goodread...-pronounce-jorg

I thought I was safe with Nona too, but the UK audiobook gets it wrong and says Non-a rather than No-Na.

Also... I have a Book of the Ancestor short story out, it sits between Grey Sister and Holy Sister.

https://www.goodread...k/show/42633199

Bottom line though, I make up the pronunciation of the names in the books I read, and I expect everyone else to do so too. It only becomes an issue if you need to talk about them with someone else.

Hunh, I haven't kept track of your writing since Broken Earth, Lawrence. You've been busy.

Are the Ancestor books set in the same universe as Broken Earth?

I also bought One Word Kill at the same time!!

As for Holy Sister... dang, I had to drag myself off to sleep with the last 20 pages remaining last night... it had hit past 2am and it was one of those "just another page" jobbies...

Others need to read this book, something happens at the end that must be discussed but I won't post any spoilers as it's too soon and I'm not sure if anyone else has read it yet??

Safe to say though that it was one of those moments where you read something then put the book down for a long while to ponder it...

I finished this. I'll discuss in depth when more people are done.

There's more to be done in this universe, so I think Mark has a couple more stories to tell after this trilogy concludes. And I hope this sells well enough to allow those stories to be told. Certainly cracking good books.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

My copy will be here Thursday and I can't wait. As for amphibian's comment that there are more stories to tell in this universe I found this on goodreads. https://www.goodread...rom_search=true

Great find. I figured that this was the direction he'd take.

Yeah it was what I had hoped for too. I wonder if it will be similar to Jorg/Jalan and their cross over story or whether it will be a different time frame... I would love it if the girl from the ice was Zole and it covered her life from the start...

Also I'm about half way through One Word Kill, I'm intrigued by this book. It's different to what I expected but really enjoying it so far... very well written as always by Mark.

Finished Holy Sister last week. The Scene with
Spoiler
made me just sit slack jawed in amazement until I read it 2-3 more times. Shocking that there was a book in this series where someone one-upped Nona in a moment of bad-assery.
So, you're the historian who survived the Chain of Dogs.
Actually, I didn't.

It seems you stand alone.
It was ever thus.
