Though whether or not that's true after
Spoiler
is an interesting question. But this is the wrong thread for that.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I must admit all the constant mentioning of Ubala's genitals got a little old after a while.

I think Masan Gilani's ass is mentioned somewhere around 200 times as well.

well, the fact that all those women always talk about Ublala's tool basically makes me smile all the time, because usually (so it is believed) it are the guys constantly checking out women as if they were just a piece of meat... but now SE shows us that women act the same way :D

SE has characters that act the same way. I recall being shocked that my sister was checking out Engelbert Humperdinck's 'package' back in the 1970's. :D

I don't like the way that no one really dies properly.

BONEHUNTERS SPOILER::::::::: DON'T READ ON IF YOU HAVN'T READ IT!!

The worst example of this for me is when Cutter, Heboric etc get attacked by the CG's Tlan Imass and nearly everyone of them survives?? The one that didn't seem to survive will no doubt rise again as something else. Also Quick Ben and Kalam dying but both seemingly saved at the end by the same person.

Also after waiting ages to see what Icarium is capable of and then finally seeing that just a skilled fighter can hold him back for ages like Trull
and he gets stopped by an E'resal brushing his leg? This guy is meant to have destroyed civilisations, what a let down :(

Not an Eres'al, the Eres'al. Like, the time-travelling goddess one. Fair to assume she can do some fairly powerful stuff with actual physical contact.

Yeah ok but just a touch? Icarium's been built up so much and Mappo's memories have filled me with awe of what he can do. I havn't read RG yet am i right to assume the title refers to the storm of death that occurs when Icarium goes into his "trance"?

Besides being a time travelling goddess, the Eres'al is the 'last innocent power' on the face of the Earth. She powered T'amber, she guided Beak and QB's conjuring, she has been feeding the Adjunct her agenda... so she's not a small power at all.

Also, a lot can be said along the lines of innocence/ healing/ love triumphing over blind rage (as Voldemort well knows) but I wont.

That might not be a correct assumption. Things are always complicated in SE's world.

This is probably significant, yes. It's true that he couldn't be out-fought (even Karsa couldn't beat him when he's keening, I think) or much affected by sorcery, according to Monok Ochem, so it would need a certain type of effect to calm him. And that's all the Eres did really - she brought him back to his "normal" state. All we saw was a touch, but there could be some fairly powerful stuff transmitted by it, after all:)

Very good point. I never thought that he could just be switched off like that. :( But still Trull holding him back with a spear? :hand: Even though it was said in the game with Fiddler he is the knight of shadow now he shouldn't be able to stand against Icarium at all.

It is re-iterated several times when there's a scene in the cave just how awesome Trull is;) One of the best hand-to-hand fighters in the book, I would imagine.

And of course there's always the suprise factor. Must people are probably un-accustomed to fighting against a spear as opposed to a sword. Add to that angry-Icarium's impatient smash-bash fighting style, and it's not so implausible:)

Yeah like how he bats aside arrows etc I agree with this but did becoming the knight of shawdow give him extra powers or something? I'm amazed he became so powerful.

I suppose i'm just really disappointed after all the build up with Icarium destroying armies and cities by himself that it didn't fit what i had in my head. Then again more may be explained in RG as i havn't read it yet. Looking forward to seeing what happens with the Icarium/Karsa/Rhulad triangle :(

Ages? I got the impression that fight lasted like thirty seconds. Not to mention Trull was about to die until Quick Ben surprised Icarium with a few warrens in his face.

Also, as said before, Trull is one of the best hand-to-hand fighters in the series, and the Knight of Shadow...whatever that means. He wasn't going toe-to-toe with Icarium, he was being pushed back, and fast. he suffered countless (although maybe small) wounds during the small skirmish as well didn't he?

Icarium ripping through a couple of T'lan Imass was satisfactory to me, I always felt like they were incredibly unbeatable what with all there fastness, and dust thing, and not caring what happens to their limbs and stuff. Also Icarium literally tore through every single Letherii and Tiste Edur that went in there with him. I can't remember the exact number but it wasn't a small.

He was just getting started too! I think your not giving him enough credit...maybe. Sure it wasn't as crazy as it could have been but not bad.

Indeed. He also killed Apt with ease, a demon capable of killing a kenrylalalah with out a sweat.

I understand what you're all saying and i agree. My point wasn't that he didn't kick enough arse it was that Trull was able to hold him back with a spear? I just didn't expect Trull to be able to do that. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him with his new title :(
