I like Shan's Cooks pick. He's been steadily going up on the board over time and I guess I was overly optimistic by hoping he'd fall to round 9 so I could reach for him in 8 :).

I needed a player with some hype. I feel like most of my bench is creaky.

I thought for sure I would be able to get him on the next swing around to me, i.e. some 25 picks from now. The kid was a stud at OSU and wanted him in a Drew Brees lead Offense. Grumble, Grumble, Grumble.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Wouldn't have fallen past me. It's kind of funny that the third receiver after Colston and Stills gets picked first... but what I saw in those few training camp vids was insane speed and the word was also that he absolutely devoured the playbook.

I got to see him play in person on a number of occasions and more than a few times on the tube. And he was a playbook hog even during college. There is a good reason he won all kinds of awards as a junior. It will probably be a great pick by Shan. I'm just pissed I didn't land him.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

This actually happened yesterday but whatever.Okay, here we go. A little background about me. I'm young (mid 20's), I'm a guy, I'm white, and I'm a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan (American football). For this of you who aren't familiar with the sport, the Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys have a huge rivalry that has existed for years. Here's where I fuck up.

So I'm at work (fast food), this day I had decided to wear my favorite Eagles shirt underneath of my uniform because why not. An older black guy walks into the store wearing a Cowboys hat, t-shirt, lanyard, and jacket. Upon seeing him most of my co-workers greeted him with a smile and a hello. I on the other hand, without thinking, greeted this 60 year old black guy with a "we don't serve your kind here". It instantly registered to me what I had said when all my co-workers looked at me in disbelief. I also realized that this poor guest couldn't see my t-shirt under my uniform. I instantly began apologizing and explaining. I took my uniform shirt off, showed him my phone background, my credit card, literally anything I could to show him I was trying to make a sports joke and not being a racist little shit.

After about 30 seconds of me explaining he started laughing so hard I thought he was gonna piss himself. Then he told me not worry about, and that he understood. I gave him his food for free. Then the manager wanted to have a little chit-chat. I wasn't fired but I was yelled at pretty well.

So that's the story of how sports made me look racist.

Apt is the only one who reads this. Apt is nice.

Too early? Probably a bit but wanted a solid one as I'm likely to have huge holes in other positions.

1 pick too early. I was going to draft the Seattle D if you didn't.

Shan, I am now going to draft all of your handcuffs for that Terrance West pick.

Sure. I don't mind if you want to draft Darren McFadden.

And Stepfan Taylor and Lance Dunbar.

I didn't plan to draft any of them. But then, I don't really have a plan.

Yeah, after seeing your RBs I decided to let the issue drop.

Taking west was kinda harsh. Lol. West may end up being more than just a handcuff. We generally try to stay away from each others handcuffs don't we? I'm not talking about teams with RB committees. I can see someone taking part of a committee. But not a true handcuff. For example, Fred Davis is more than just a handcuff to cj spiller. I almost took him myself. He is great in his own right. But someone taking davonte freeman from 12 would be kinda rough. But once draft is up, banking a handcuff or two is just fine

Absolutely not IMO. The West pick was solid because Tate will probably be hurt by the time I'm finished typing this, and then he'll be a starter. You're not just guaranteed someone's backup because you picked the starter. There's no buy one, get one free.

Oh, I don't fault it. West was my next pick because Tate is by no means a sure thing, health or ability.

You still have to use one of your draft picks to grab your own handcuff. You guys are the ones that said it in last seasons thread, or maybe the year before. I still think its a crappy thing to do, especially since we have to draft before the preseason games are done due to time constraints. But youre the Commish. Glad I know that now. Wish I'd known last round though.
