Started playing this last week. I'm level 7 I think. Having only 2 builders so early sucks and 500 gems or whatever is ridiculously expensive so it takes some doing to get gold and elixir storage up town hall levels up. Seems fun though.

Don't spend Gems on anything until you can afford another builder.

Try and do as many achievements as you can for extra gems.

Trees and bushes appear after 12 hours, clear them for Gems and they will reappear after a while.

No point using gems until you get to a higher Town Hall.

I don't have 800 trophies. I've only got about a handful of multiplayer bouts in at the moment. Only have warriors and archers. I thought I had a decent defense laid out but someone came in with 50 warriors and wiped the floor with me. That's when I realized I needed to drop some dough on the mortar rounds.

I also don't have a castle. Only have a level 3 town hall. Will try and upgrade that today as I finally got my gold storage levels up high enough that I can actually afford it now.

Max out your defenses and walls and everything. Take your time and build up more and better defenses. You will get cleaned out. Everyone does just raid more often then you get raided.

No worries, build yourself up like venge and tats always suggest.We are a start up clan ourselves so when you get yourself into the runnings pay us a visit and try a war or two. I personally just graduated to TH6. I think TH5 is a good place to start going to war. Wars keep you busy while you upgrade defences...also the bonuses are pretty hefty.

Do you guys think upgrading resource collectors past lvl 9 is worth it? The 300 an hour increase does not affect your resource problems that much and the 3 day build time is a real bother.
What about walls past lvl 6? Upgrading one wall for 200k gold really doesn't seem something I would want to do .... It will take forever...

Also, I want to TH snipe to get into crystal league. (for the 4th builder) Do people still keep their TH's out of walls in really high trophy ranges? (like 1900+)

If you are thinking about making a try for the crystal league you will need your walls as high as possible. I got 4 builders in both of my accounts and haven't had to go up to the crystal league to do it. Just don't spend any gems. Usually players who are farming will keep there TH outside of their walls way up into the crystal leagues. Max out everything you possibly can. Max out your resources and your walls. Take the time to do it. Otherwise you will level up your TH and find that you are getting hit by higher ranks and don't have the defenses to keep your resources and hitting lower ranks won't give you the payout that they once did. So it is going to take you longer to build up your defenses.

Well I officially suck. I've been getting my butt kicked on the goblin raids on this one level with two mortars. I finally upgraded one of my barracks so I can get giants thinking they will help with breaking down the walls and taking out the defenses. Yeah right. the mortars keep wiping them out even with the 500 hPs each. Not to mention the 4 cannons on top of it. I've dropped I don't know how much elixir to win that level and I keep getting my butt handed to me. I have no idea what to do now. Any advice?

Can you give us the name of the level? Is it walls of steel? That level's surprising tough.

Mortars can be a problem. Techniques vary but flooding in lvl 3 barbarians is my attack of choice, they like to get close which nullifies mortar range. then mixing wizards into an archer horde tends to get me the best result. 6 giants can distract your cannons and buy your horde time to deal damage. In walls of steel bombers can be a tad redundant.

Keep upgrading your barracks to get ballons. Your talking about the missions right. Wallbreakers are what you want for the walls then send in your giants and archers.

You level your troops in the laboratory. I dont know what th you get that but it is worth it. Also raid often that is the best way to build up resources

Yeah I figured out the Laboratory. I was way short on elixir and been holding off on buying it. 50K elixir for a single upgrade. Holy shit that it pricy for me right now. And it's taking way too long to get a third builder doing things on the cheap.

I just got my fifth builder on my alt account without buying any gems. Feels good. It was so much easier to do than it was on my main account. You new guys might not know, but clearing obstacles used to only give 0-3 gems instead of 0-6, there were no gem boxes, and really none of the achievements gave huge gem prizes yet, it was only the smaller ones. It is so easy to get gems now compared to the old days, which is nice.

Your right it took me so long to get my 3rd and 4th builder on my main account. I was able to do crazy fast in the second account. Which I started a couple of months later.
