Vengeance, we've got people who are attacking far too 'low', others who are attacking people after they have been 3-star'd, and people just being generally bad.

Not sure how serious you want to be about it, this is just an FYI of what I saw in the first hour or so of this weeks war.

Name names please.

Vivek Radhakris (who just left) attacked someone I had already 3starred.

If you look at blazerboy, he was ranked 19 in our clan, yet he attacked
kenn and gael fr3so0n who were 28 and 31, is the one I noticed, which prevents the lower people from getting in on them.

Any attack on someone more than 5 'ranks' below you should be after 12 hours have passed, imo, so that the 'lower' ranked people can try to get 3 stars, saving your stronger attacks for stronger opponents. I also think that at least one attack must be on someone within 5 ranks of you, unless you are trying to 'clean up' at the end of the war, say in the last 6 hours?

I'm sure there is more than are doing this, and it might be, the 'recommended target', because my recomended target was their rank35 at the beginning of that war.

clair, our 35th, probably isn't going to be able to break anyone (much if at all) higher than her. She needs to be able to wail away on rank 35 and 34, or her attacks are uselss.

Should also probably put a tutorial on 'how to build a war base' and some suggestions on how to attack.

Possibly another one differentiating the different levels of defenses (rank 6 cannon looks like this, as opposed to rank 7) and so on. It absolutely matters.

I just don't know how super serious you want to be about it. If you want to WIN, BABY, we need to tighten up. If you just want to have fun and let people do their own thing, it isn't a big deal.

I don't really care either way.

I always wonder at the ultimate goal of clan wars though, Even if you win it is not really worth the bother...

2 attacks for hundreds of thousands of 'bonus' resources, without losing resources if you are attacked and broken in the clan war?

Yea... not really worth it...

My clan castle can't take more than 200k resources. Which is two normal raids If I'm really looking for resources.(two*100k)
So, it's not worth it, at least on my level. Especially when you consider that we have to win the whole war to get the resources and 3 starring people is far more difficult than taking their resources.

But, I agree about the fun part of being in a clan with lots of wins.

Advice was pure Gold. I'm using Lvl 2 mages instead of Lvl 2 archers though.

I'm saving up to get Lvl 3 archers after the war should we win it but right now I figured I can afford the extra cost. Out of two attacks I only got 3 stars but my defence has so far kicked ass.

Our clans doing ok I think. I'm the weakling at the bottom lower portion of the rung if you wanna check us out.

I know when i managed to get onto the war (about 2/3 hours after it started) i struggled as my reccomended targets were 6+ levels above me.

I am going to send an email out about that. Higher ranked players should not be attacking low opponents until the last 8 hours of the battle day. That is fair to guys trying to build up there bases.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

The point of war is not to get loot, that's a bonus. The point of war is to win wars. It gives incentive to use your best army and best techniques, and go right into the heart of an opponent's defense and see who wins. Defensively it challenges you to have a solid base and makes your defenses matter. This is a welcome change from farming, where you use a cheap crappy army to find the easiest targets you can, while leaving your th outside so no one even tests your defenses.

Basically, it's the point of the game. If you aren't warring, then why go on these raids to collect resources in order to upgrade your defenses? Without war it's a village building simulator.

Welp I raided like 1.5 million overnight and I couldn't stop myself from starting the upgrade to TH7.

Only things I haven't upgraded (to their final level) is 1 Wizard Tower, 1 Archer Tower (both of which I can do during the 6 day upgrade of my TH) and some walls and some mines/collectors.

Going to pause there and get some farming on.

Question, Someone told me that it is possible to farm enough dark elixir for a Barbarian King inTH7 using lightning spells. Is it worth it?

I got my King in TH7 through raids. The dark drill hardly does anything.

What's the damage on a lvl 3 lightening spell? It's pretty pricey but I need to do better in the clan war so looking at boosting my offense. Should I get lvl 3 lightening spell first or upgrade my remaining 2 army camps to roast boar lvl (level 5) instead. It's roughly the same cost and I've saved 300 000 elixir so both are possible after tonight's farming session.

I would upgrade your army camps then boost your Lightening spell. Having access to more troops is huge.

Tips on raiding for dark elixer at TH7? (I'm building my storage now, and while 've been raiding for gold/elixer, it seems everyone REALLY defends black elixer, as I'm going to, and not other stuff)

Also, anyone know how much of your resources (like 20%?) is available to someone at the same TH level as you? I know the -50% stuff for going well below you, but if I'm sitting on 1mil gold or something, and someone brings me up in an attack, what percentage of that do they see that they can grab?

Okay for me I got to a higher league because that is where the dark elixir is, you need to push trophies and get to the gold leagues. This is where you should be able to get dark elixir. Now don't expect loads each raid, you should be aiming around 500 DE per raid. Don't worry about trophies whilst farming. People use lightning spells for dark elixir, now I am unsure on how that tactic works but I have found a few comments from the Supercell Forums...

Quote

Hello. I have seen on the forums and in the game, that people look down on players who drop lightning spells on their dark elixir without attacking, but isn't this just like normal farming? Before you leave angry comments, hear me out a bit.If you are dropping hundreds of trophies to farm, and wiping out players 30 levels below you, you are taking advantage of the trophy matchmaking system. It is unfair to the lower level players, but why do most people, including me, farm? Because it is beneficial. It makes us progress in the game. I think that the TH6s don't enjoy it too much when they see all their resources get stolen from level 5 troops.
Now, if you are a townhall 9 or 10, and a townhall 7 lightnings your dark elixir, they are taking advantage of the loot bonus/penalties. It is unfair to the people being lightninged, but it is beneficial to the person who use the lightnings against the dark elixir storage. It sucks that they could use a cheap trick to get dark elixir, but that is the easiest way they progress in the game.
I am not bashing these styles of playing the game, and if any of you misunderstand, I think that there is nothingwrong with farming. I just think there might be something wrong with me complaining about how my centered DE has been lightninged when I just finished raiding a Townhall 6 who had spent a lot of time protecting his gold and elixir.
I don't know. Maybe most people have a different perspective? If you disagree, please fill me in in the comments, so I could learn more about this game

Here is someone with a detailed journey of dark elixir. I think he goes from TH6 right up to TH10...

New attacking method I'm trying seems to be working well for me. I have a bunch of l5 wizards and about 4 l3 healers. Seem to be getting a lot of 100% wins with it.
