If Tiam was a symp and GL was a killer does that mean we have another symp now upgraded to killer?

Bek, these are wormholes that will do your head in. I think it was Khell being Khell. Frustration over last game? Who knows.

Since part of this was TIam vs. MO, it certainly doesn't clear up MO in my mind. Now, I'm going to take a moment and sift through those 3 I underlined earlier.

There seems to be a lot of banter back and forth over stuff that seemed pretty clearly labeled when I read the OP. I reached one post by MO and almost voted for him because he said

Aha Amp you just fell into my trap!

I actually am half tempted to vote amp or GL already

Amp for the signalling hahahaha winky face, its a common trick to take the sting out of a reaching vote and pass it off as a joke

GL for blowing it entirely out of proportion and letting it smoke screen the thread for other to glide by, possible symp action

I just can't decide which of the scenarios is the more plausable

I find it mildly suspicious when people say hey look at those symps lets not look at who they are symping. Which if I read everything correctly was him.

The other thing that I dislike is the thought that in order to keep from leveling we need to eliminate the high posters. That makes for irritating games with no interaction. I took Tappers no spam warning as don't post but as don't do one word posts and or post lyrics to songs or the complete Iliad.

Vote Alkend

Day 1, looking away from the loud people we get Alkend who checks in, comments on Tapper's acronym and then this post is their attempt at substance.

OMGUS!

Yes, that was an attempt at substance. Are you saying I should not try to post any substance? You would rather I just make "Checking in, but I have nothing to say" posts?

I'm saying your substance is lacking substance and therefore looks suspiciously like someone just trying to appear helpful without actually contributing.

I'm thinking Alkend has been one of the more astute players at this early juncture in the game. Thus, your suspicion of both them and Monok (which I still don't understand) make me suspicious of you.

Yeah I don't understand that vote either. I guess it is one of those everyone should be looked at votes. But it is just kind of tossed in there.

I am not going to be on when the day times out and while I haven't seen anything that screams I am scum (I personally like flashing lights that say "I am scum"). GL has managed to do enough to earn my vote for today. I think that the one thing we can learn from the last game is that if someone acts funny on day 1 they need to be lynched and then we lynch the rest of the people who are scummy.

Vote GL

These were the posts by Okral Lom on Day 1 that actually expressed some sort of opinion on the game.

He's 5th on the train, which doesn't really say anything either way. So far, I'm not really feeling anything is suspicious.

haven't read, quick post.

I think there's 3 factiosn, US, EU and Asia

each has 3 people, 2 RI, 1 bad guy then hu fat at the top, that gives us 13 and an easy way to tag the bastards. (need to check op to confirm this theory, annd confumr it was 13 players.

13 alive.

1 hours, 20 minutes or thereabouts left.

6 votes on Galayn Lord (Rikkter, monok ochem, Alkend, Bek Okhan, Okral Lom, Ampelas)
1 vote for Monok (Korabas)
1 vote for Bek Okhan (GL)
1 vote for Alkend ( Lock)

(Eloth hammers)

Kesso has too many short posts to make for good post tagging, and Korabas replies are long with quote tags. Neither of them really have done anything suspicious or seem implicated in any way that I can see in a fast read through of their posts.

I would hazard these three haven't received any heat because their play hasn't done anything to garner any particular attention.

However, only one of them voted for GL. Both Kesso and Korabas made ample posts, but stayed away from that train. Of course, so did I, so I can hardly call their behavior scummy just because of that.

So...that was an exercise in futility for me. I don't get anythign scummy from any of those 3, but neither did anything they did scream innocence. So much for that.

Gonna just point out I am not from any of the above. might be important long run. I think EU is the only faction proven to be replicated.

My level 5 lead me to my conclusions, when I have a minute I'll explain why I knew alkend was inno, and how I rached my.conclusions (seemingly eronious) above

Just poking my head in here to read up a bit before I go to bed. Couple thoughts that come to mind:

1 - the flavor text of GL being a "henchman" is interesting. One would assume Hau Fat will be in this game. I doubt Hau Fat himself would be paired with "henchman", so my current line of thinking is that there are two henchmen, probably paired/lovers, as well as Hau Fat in a leader role. No symps. So then the henchman probably know Hau Fat but he doesn't know them. This jives fairly well with GL and the possible signals/hints you guys have been looking at from him. GL and his partner would be trying to setup a partners code they could use later in a fake inno-pair reveal, and at the same time they would be trying to signal Hau Fat.

2 - Why the EU in his CF? Maybe it would come into play (and so would everyone else's) when we hit level 5 and [i]turn into factions (or however that is supposed to work).[/i]

Huh? Where did I miss that this is or will become a faction game?

here we are. vote Eloth

this is still based on a crazy monkey theory, hear me out.

Alkend post (quoted.by eloth) was what first made me think she was RI, here interpretation of her pm being similar.to mine, ergo same role. its the reason I PI'd them, I.covered it with the pressure kn GL reason to see if any other players dropped a line I could work with.

I only twigged on Eloths non understanding when hunting for this post by Alkend (eventually searching for the word faction, finding the post I made following it then tracking back, blegh)

To hell with Beks disagreement with my theory on layout. I like it, 3 unrelated henchmen (glorified symps) and the top dick. Beks going to get scrutiny when I get to the airport and can open the big screen. Long time typing on phone, expecting cross posts

Wait, wait, rewind. Makes sure he is on the train. Could Eloth have hammered, even though such an action would draw attention, to prove townie-ness by bringing down scum? I would bet dollars to dimes scum was on GL's train for such a reason, but either very early in the train, before it had any notion of picking up steam, or very late, when the train was already running at full tilt. Keep in mind that Rikkter, OL, and Amp also fall into this suspect pool. I plan on at least addressing the first 2 later, if I have a chance.

Really? You think scum would have early in day 1 voted for their fellow scum just so that if he wound up getting lynched they would have deniability? That seems awfully risky compared to just not voting him early and trying to not be down a scum day 1!

Well, yeah. Amp voted GL iirc, and then withdrew it after it was clear to be a "joke" vote, later replacing it towards the end.

As for the true query of your question, Rikkter, I would say that with GL, seeing how exuberantly scummy he was (even though he was among comparable company) and seeing how much heat he was garnering, made him a safe bet for a first vote. A train would be built with or without one's vote if the public was convinced (no different than last game where Venge started a case on someone, the case achieved some votes, and ended in a lynch, even without Venge laying down the first vote). So I could see scum sacrificing one of their own, especially if there was a benefit to them later in the game (and especially if the fellow scum was lower on the totem pole as "henchman" implies).

I know it is an unsavory viewpoint, but this is mafia after all.

I am hoping to dig into Rikkter's case later today. We'll see how work goes.

ah, i see

I wasn't terribly shocked Alkend was D'rek. I didn't ALT her, but for some reason I always think she's scum, and once again I went after her on day 1. ;)

Though we arent allowed to reveal our faction i think its a big thing to work out if the EU are unique.

Monok all but told us he's from the US. Any claims on sharing that seem not to be allowed but denying being from any of the three should be allowed?

This is a simple way to check if we all serve unique nations or if there is agrouping

If this is really how things work, then I'm even more convinced that Bek is scum.

That being said, I really like this case right here:

That's a dangerous dance. Game design sets how reveals are policed, and if Tapper doesn't want us to know with any concreteness who is from where, it's because it could quite possibly "break" the game. Tapper is pretty thorough with his designs, so jerry-rigging a wraparound to his reveal rule smells like a no-no. When it doubt, message PS.
