I actually really like Rift. There is something about it that appeals to me.

EDIT: also, I apparently stomp ASS at Rift. I've been playing all night and dominating way more than I ever could hope for in Control.

I guess this Black Spindle I've been reading about is why they nerfed Black Hammer. It seems a strange way to go about things - instead of coming up with new interesting weapon perks, change the old weapons by removing/nerfing their perks and give their perks to new weapons - essentially asking players to get the same weapon in a slightly different shape in order to have that perk that you used to have but now don't because fuck you that's why.

Umm I'm looking at a Warlock as I type this with 2 exotic armor pieces...wtf?!

Class-specific armor exotics from the factions have a perk on them that let them not count to your 'one exotic' limit.

@Khell -> The Black Spindle has different perks from the old Black Hammer. The problem with Black Spindle, apparently, is that it shouldn't have dropped at 310, and that is what is getting nerfed.

Helpful note:

The maps that are GREAT for Rift are: Vertigo (this is probaly my fave map to run Rift on), Bannerfall, and Frontier and the Drifter. They have clear sets of paths to get the Spark to the enemy Rift and the Spark is not in a controlled or too open space. This means that there are plenty of players to run WITH you, and the other team has a GOOD chance to take you out before you dunk their rift.

The maps that SUCK ASS for Rift are: Memento (seriously, this map is the worst of TTK maps easily...and playing Rift on it is annoying), The Dungeon, and Sector 618...all of these have the spark in an area that is either too confined or too out in the open with too many ways to get at it...this basically means that playing Rift on these maps is a clusterfuck of both teams in a bullet/grenade/super storm in around the area that the Spark manifests...and results in everyone dying except on person...who inevitable grabs the spark and runs...but then all the other team is spawning between you and their rift and it's damned near impossible to dunk it.

Also, is it a new feature that when the other team destroys yours utterly (or vice versa) a few times, the Bungie servers swap out the teams and randomizes new ones to make it more fair? I like that a LOT. It means I don't have to do it anymore.

Just beat Oryx! It was tough, but not impossible

And thanks for the heads up BK, I grabbed Hawkmoon Y2...also grabbed some exotic armour that was better than what I had...and then I infused the Apple Of Discord pulse rifle I got for beating the Taken King and pushed its attack up to 229

Do you mean in the raid or in story missions?

He means story. Unless it's possible to get an Apple of Discord with 230 odd Light from the Raid. XD

Honestly, Hwakmoon is underwhelming to me. I can see where it can be beastly with its triple bonus damage chances, but either because of the general hand cannon nerf or because the scout rifles I've been using are utterly fantastic, almost better in every way in fact, I'm just not feeling the love.
Heck, if it takes two shots to kill with that, or two with my Tlaloc or Boolean, I know which I'd rather have (and they have much more fun perks than the straight damage buffs HM gets) in 99% of PvE content. XD

Yeah, story mission.

Hawkmoon is nice just because I've not had a hand cannon before that had such a large clip.

EDIT: just farmed the Hadrian Flakes on the Dreadnought to get an Arc Sword! Woohoo!

I hate hate hate that the exotic sword quest requires you to kill 25 guardians in the crucible with the sword.

Yeah, I'm up to that now and I don't know how long it's going to take me. I barely play crucible these days and to get 25 sword kills? O.o

My question is, do I actually want an exotic sword? Can I keep my legendary one? Because I don't want to use my exotic slot on a sword in most cases. XD

I'm finding Rift WAY more fun than I used to find even control.,...there is something about the kinetic nature of always running and shooting clumps of guys.

I WILL say against it though that if you come into a match already in progress, it's damned near impossible to get the lay of the land with your team to win....so I always have one match that sucks and then the next match is good,

EDIT: oh and when the servers shift things because one team was winning too much....eh, I am seeing the issue with that now. If I'm on a streak with a bunch of guys and we are doing well....I don't want to be randomized out onto a new team

Glad your liking it. I did the daily on it yesterday and I swear as soon as I got the spark my Ambien kicked in on the spot so I was basically drunk running with it not having a clue where to go. It didn't help that I was on a 1st time map either....

I think if my timing is right IB should be Tuesday? This is the 1st time I've actually been dreading it. I'm going to die with my puny 220ish Light compared to these 290-300's I'm seeing. I hope they'll be offering new armor at 280 or more.

Lol, if IB offers armour or weapons with more than Light 280, I'm quitting the game. I'm sick of pvp being forced on me (or, in general, any game mode forced on people, to get certain/better stuff/faster),especially the utterly broken Crucible. Until they completely fix the balance issues, it just isn't something you should be forced to do. :p

I've just got the last part to do. You can keep your old sword And I believe you can equip your exotic sword in addition to another exotic!

You do keep your legendary, but no the new exotic swords do not have 'the life exotic' on them.

Does anyone know if you buy the leg engrams from Crypt if those are lvl 40 at 280 light or are they 245? I don't want to risk my LM in case they aren't 280.

I have not purchased any, but I would assume they are engrams; therefore you are taking a dice roll on what comes out of them.

SOB I was pissed off last night. New strike and I was trying to get xplore it but it's obvious the other 2 have done it so They were trucking it to end and now if you're sep from players it teleports you to them. Who knows how much of the strike I didn't even see....

Yeah, I hate that too. It would be nice to have two different categories once you select a strike, one for those just wishing to complete the strike fast and head straight for the endgame, and one for those who want to play the whole thing, explore and defeat all the enemies. It's an epidemic. I don't think I've played a strike yet in over a year that didn't consist of the other two people wanting to head straight for endgame boss.

Though I had my first experience with a lazy striker last night...I did ALL the work and he merely benefited. Seriously, my kills were something like 125, and his were like 6...and he revived me once. That was an interesting feeling. I wasn't mad at him (I still got shit DONE), but it was weird to see someone so blatantly ride my coattails.

EDIT: Also realizing the Legendary Marks available aren't separate between your characters is a bit of a piss-off. I got all my Weekly LM's for my Hunter, and then loaded up my Warlock only to discover I can't get any for my others till next week I guess? Ugh. Kind of crappy.
