It's too quiet. If they wanted a new voiceover, it should have been Nathan Fillion.

I like it. At least he sounds like a robot aping human speech now. Dinklage sounded like a human head trapped in a tiny robot body.

North's dialogue sounds more like Wheatley from Portal 2...which makes more sense to me than Dinklage's performance ever did.

He's gone for the stereotypical slightly quirky yet servile butler robot voice. Dinklage's Ghost sounded more...like a human. While tension wasn't exactly ramped up by Dinklage's monotone delivery, North's version makes everything you're doing seem a little more fluffy and light.



I've just watched a video of the new PS4-exclusive Echo Chamber strike. Looks pretty good, I like the mechanic where one player has to carry around a heavy ball from one socket to another, while the other two protect them. But by the end it was way overused (something like six times in all you have to do it). I did like that defeating the end boss didn't just involve shooting it for 15-20 minutes though.

I went on the Vanguard strike playlist and got to play the DLC strikes for the first time, I didn't realise those had been unlocked for everyone!

Will of Crota was meh, but I enjoyed the Taniks one because it's quite different to most strikes, with Taniks popping up right in front of you and then having a running battle throughout thr ship with him while he's constantly taunting you. Also there were only two of us doing the strike which made it pretty epic despite it being level 20.


On a different but related note, how do you fill the rocket launcher field test? It says use on high level enemies, so I've been using it on strike bosses, but it still says 0% complete. By use does it actually mean kill? Or is it that level 20 is not considered high enough?

Left it going/downlaoding all night. Only 9 gigs down. Fuck this is excruciating. Will continue it tonight after work. Probably means I'm not playing until Saturday at least.

Khell; it means kill. (Yellow bar is important, not level.)

Best option is to find some high level mobs in patrol and farm them (it's ten kills). I used the Hive guys in the Cosmodrome starting area, took about five minutes.

Ouch. Even I got mine down in an evening, and my connection is not great (practical speed is about 600kb/s down... Often higher on heavy duty sources like Microsoft or Steam, but not more than 1mb/s) even by nz standards.

I don't know what the issue is. Our connection is usually pretty solid up and down. But I'm getting pretty frustrated with it. Usually if I buy a season of TV on iTunes and download it overnight, it has zero issues with like 20Gigs....so this is just irritating me that it's going so tepidly slow. I've paused it as BK suggested, no help. I want to get on before TTK drops so I can at least have a grip on the changes.

Don't play World of Halo, however from past MMO experience, I'd imagine it'll just be high level spawns / elites, as opposed to bosses.

Chaos is the right word. I've tried a couple of games and I had no idea where the 'spark' was at any point. All the games I played in had one team win heavily - presumably because they contained fireteamed players. That mode definitely requires communication.

It was my WiFi signal...weak AF (going to have to get it upgraded)...I've now connected it to a network cable and it's cooking along 4-6Mgs a second.

Nice! Yeah, if your wifi was that weak, a repeater and/or improved router might be overdue. :harhar:


I'm well on my way to having all 6 sublcasses fully upgraded across my three characters. I didn't bother with the alt classes on my Hunter or Titan because 1) I hardly ever play those two anyway and 2) it was hard enough to try and get good loot drops from high-level content on under-leveled characters WITH all the upgrades unlocked, never mind throwing on a new class as well. Now that both characters are 34 (in a matter of two hours or so of casual play each), and I am now swimming in upgraded Exotic heavy weapons (I think Bungie has seriously reduced the amount of EXP required to upgrade exotics from year 1, plus has increased the XP yield of bounties, because it took me a LOT longer to upgrade my first Gjallahorn and Thunderlord, never mind how much longer it took to upgrade my Light Beyond Nemesis compared to how quickly the Helm of Saint-14 is going up), it's a lot easier to both spend the time and get the outcome on both level and class progression than it was.

My plan is to have all 6 original subs full by the time TTK drops, just to keep my options open when doing the new end-game content and the like.

XP leveling is so much more fun than RNG-based leveling. It's a shame there is still a large performance gate via RNG on new weapons once TTK comes out, but at least I know I'll be able to make 40 and therefore use my new loot, compared to the previous two expansions and original game where making the top level was neither guaranteed nor within my control due to RNG.

My only issue is that we're all going to be 40 in the first week, at which point it becomes a lootgrind again. *sigh* Still, better than the alternative. (Though I kind of think maybe Bungie should have bit the bullet and either dropped us all back to 20, or made the new cap 50, just so that it isn't over in the blink of an eye again - race to 20 took about 8 hours of play, at a decent pace with no serious grinding.)

But it's been fun playing with the other classes. Bladedancer is definitely the worst "straight up" PvE character - that super is woefully underpowered, the Blink Strike is far too short range, and the grenade options are kinda meh. Different story in PvP of course. What I don't understand is that, with a super that's clearly only suitable for killing mobs in PvE, why they made it so inefficient and risky to use - as a Warlock, of either subclass, I can take out as many (or more) enemies as the Bladedancer super can, faster, and generate more orbs, from a safe distance, and the Sunsinger gets a self-res and all sorts of goodies, while the Voidwalker can also use it on higher-tier enemies to greater effect?
Bleh. As much as I've known this since my first Hunter character (long deleted), it's odd to be feeling the same thing again as if from a fresh start.

Also, liking the subclass quests. Quite decent, if slightly repetitive in the middle there (kill enemies with your super/melee/grenade, followed by...kill enemies with your super (spawn orbs)? Redundant, much?), and obviously rewards you with a legendary class item...which now do things. XD Not that we can wear them yet, of course.

Funny, I've had the definite impression that bounty XP has been decreased, or rather, you need more XP to upgrade weapons. Where handing in a single bounty before would unlock the first upgrades on green weapons/armour, now I need to hand in 3-4.


Also, the new bounties seem way too easy/short (Kill 1 person with a Heavy Weapon, really?)

The PvE bounties are bringing in at least 3k a piece (so up from 2.5k for most), I wonder if the primary difference I'm noticing is reduced experience required to upgrade exotics...

I'm not using them, but if you XP the gun up enough to unlock perks, then when you break them down you get more weapon parts for them. You don't actually have to spend the resources to unlock the upgrades, but if you simply have the option to do it, you get more parts from the gun.
