We can't be seen swinging the vote over to Kesso. There are already enough of our fingerprints on keeping the lynch of of Monok and you. I don't want you connected to me.

I think that Alkend or Kesso could be a possible lynch. Now that Monok is under suspicion he needs to be careful of whom he kills at night to get the suspicion off of himself. Taking out Fid was good. But that leaves Tatts and perhaps Tay as role players. If there is a healer I would expect him to be healing GL tonight. Hopefully Monok kills Amp tonight.

The choice of words, Okral Lom cannot kill at this time, is what has pointed the thread at the inheritance mechanic. I am going to be fairly obvious in my scene that something like this has happened when Sorry dies. Whether it be Cotillion or Shadowthrone.

Which is why I cannot do the scene as HO wishes..

Now is the time for one of Denul or Tiam to vote for Monok. The timeout may happen, but when MO is finally lynched then it could be game over for scum because they both have avoided voting for him. Denul voting for Kesso is quite bad, especially when GL dies tonight.

Adjunct Lorn arrived at the city of Pale. She knew how precarious things were in the city. Being an extension of Laseen's will she will be seen as a threat to her friends and a threat to her enemies. She knows she is not safe but she knows if she does not act then the threat will grow. She goes in search of Ganoes and Toc the Younger.

Tayschrenn feels queasy. Otataral was ever his weakness, he cannot stand the stuff but if the empress wills it, he will obey. He knows she is here to help find the cursed assassin but that does not mean he has to like it.

Tattersail feels some guilt and is a little uneasy, last night she was on her guard against any threat but tonight she will lay down her guard to try and find Sorry. She prepares her cards and sits down to meditate. She will be focused.

Sorry has been working hard on her new weapon of choice. She started with a rope, early in the day, and threaded razor wire straight through the middle and along the length. She made it work by tearing away a lot of the rope near the center. She plans to cut off a head. She is getting so sick of this stabbing, the quiet pull of the skin as it parts way for one of her tools.

The day goes on and Ganoes has been brooding for a lot of it, brooding and drinking. Toc and Dujek have been helping him along, by passing around their drink without much words. Adjunct Lorn storms into the room, it has taken her a lot of the day just to find them and it leaves her with no time to organize things the way she wants. After finding the three of them like this, she accepts the inevitable and joins them in a drink for the memory of their friends.

"One more shot" slurred Hedge

The bar keep shook his head in bewilderment. He has served Quorl's milk to many different customers. The furthest anyone has got to is 3 shots and that was a Malazan Heavy who was only drinking the Green stuff. This wiry man had finished off a bottle of Green and is already half way through a bottle of the Gold. Impressed, he pours another shot.

"You e'er lost a friend before? A good friend. The best, not someone you know, no, someone you love and cherish?" Hedge asked

The barkeep struggled to understand, the man's words were a blur, jumbled but he got the gist. He shook his head.

Hedge slumped lower on his stool. He felt so bad, so awfully downbeat. He asks the barkeep for the rest of the bottle and a room upstairs. He loads his crossbow and makes his way upstairs.

Sorry is dreaming. In her dream she is a man, a man with grey cold eyes. She sees herself making her way through a Warren. She was sat in a bar, she must have fallen asleep. The man exits the warren into a room, he slowly pulls out a rope. She gasps, it is her rope. The man approaches a figure on the bed, he punches him in the stomach savagely. The man on the bed leans forward from the blow. The rope comes out and is wrapped around the man's neck. The wire biting into the skin. Sorry jolts awake, she is turned on somewhat as she realizes the man in the dream was her. She is sitting on the floor, Hedge's head lying next to her, his lifeless eyes staring out at nothing.

Galayn Lord is dead. He was Hedge, Gust Hubb and Town.

I wouldn't have caught it. others wouldn't and haven't but GH is amazing at finding scum early, his record is pretty good as far as I remember. Ask him when he is around, he'll let us know how many times it's happened. Even if he has been right and no one has voted with him.

I am actually not sure how many times it has happened. I know that I've had a good run the last two games. I am so much better at M&P than faction games . The thing is, no one seems to listen to my wisdom about Day 1. That is where the money is, as I see was true this game as well I'll just keep preaching and getting lynched. Hehe.

GG team scum, you almost managed to hide HO, but we're onto you. Just hope D-day doesn't come faster than we can work it out....

And HO, you are what you are. No apologies necessary. If we want to catch low posting scum, we need to change our paradigms, not your playstyle

This game HO literally has had no time to play, same with Venge and The Dude and KL, others have had better time of it like Ansible. There are finders in the game that can quite easily find out if the low posters are scum. HO could have been found or guarded any night, he could also kill his own team mates so I am impressed by his targets this game.

Ho is dangerous. We need him gone quickly. Fortunately 2 missed lynches puts us back a day from dday and forces ho to play the role of the stalled day 2 lynch of me

Quick Ben and Kalam walked along the parapet. The day had begun with some horrible news and ,although Quick had been wary of Tayschrenn at the beginning, he had decided today that enough is enough. The first thing he did was acquire 3 dolls. The next thing he did was dip those dolls in the blood of Hedge and then tie the strands of hair, he found in Hedge's room, around those dolls. Afterwards he went to find Kalam, he needed to know how an assassin would move through the city without being seen. Kalam immediately suggested the rooftops, because that is how he would move. That is how they came to be walking along the parapet. Quick had a plan, and like a spider with a web, he would strike whilst the fly is warm.

Adjunct Lorn stood in her office. She had taken over Whiskeyjacks old room. Crowding the room were Dujek, Tayschrenn, Tattersail, Ganoes Paran and Toc the Younger. She looked gravely from one to the other.

"This ends now, we are Malazans, we are resourceful, we are in this together" she said.

No one replied.

"What did you find last night Tattersail?" she asked

Tattersail's eyes narrowed.

"Do not give me that look! Answer me." Adjunct Lorn demanded.

Tattersail did not like her tone, she started to draw on her Warren but she could not grasp any threads. The Otataral! Reluctantly she told them all about how she has failed to find Sorry and that her search will continue.

Tayschrenn thought as much, he knew that if Tattersail had found her, she would have let them all know. Ganoes also knew this. So did Dujek. To be fair everyone present knew the same thing. Adjunct Lorn could not be trusted, she had just shown how ignorant she really is.

Quick Ben and Kalam had reached their destination. Now all they needed to do was wait.

The meeting seemed to go on all day. Finally, just before the sun started to set, people started to emerge from below. Dujek and Toc the younger, looking quite solemn, headed off towards The Dancing Hound Inn. A few minutes later Ganoes and Tattersail emerge, she does not look happy. Ganoes grabs her arse and she jumps up a little with a smile on her face.

That left just Tayschrenn and Adjunct Lorn in the room. Quick Ben was impressed. They had listened to him regarding doubling up in pairs. No surprise attacks. No self pity. He was about to move when he noticed Kalam looking up and away to their left. Away from the building that housed Lorn and Schrenn. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. There was some sort of shadow were no shadow should be. Quick opened a Warren, the shadow dissipated before his eyes revealing Sorry, crouched looking at the same building as them. She would have spotted them if Quick had not blindfolded one of his dolls. He asks Kalam to take out his cross bow and hands him a quarrel.

"Do you think you can hit the center of that shadow from here?" Quick Ben asks.

"Yes, but she will move" Kalam answers.

"No she will not" Quick assures him.

Kalam kneels down. He lays the crossbow across his knees and takes aim. Quick Ben loosens some of the hair on the dolls he is carrying and wraps it around the dolls' legs.

"Now!" He shouts and pulls the hair tight.

Sorry's head snaps round to where they are crouched but she does not move. The quarrel buries itself deep inside her forehead.

Shadowthrone and Cotillion watched events unfold. That old snake Ben Adeaphon Delat, he was always more than he seemed. As the bolt entered Sorry's head the connection with Cotillion was severed. Shadowthrone snarled, if he wanted a job done he would do it himself.

Quick Ben and Kalam watched Sorry roll forward and drop from the building top. As she landed there was a loud crack and the earth rumbled. Tayschrenn and Lorn came running out of the Adjunct's building, looking left and then heading right towards where Sorry fell.

Tattersail is on guard, she feels like something is about to go wrong. She heads towards the adjuncts office, on the way she remembers Ganoes is alone, torn between the two she stops where she is. She remembers how the adjunct was with her earlier and how Ganoes treats her like a princess. She turns and hurries back to Ganoes.


Back in the Adjunct's office a man suddenly appears. He uses his cane to ruffle the papers on the desk. The sword is not there. Not that it bothers him, he should have used a proxy maybe, but before he was a God, he was an Emperor and before that, well. The man starts to cackle. He is looking forward to this.
