UAF hit the Chonhar Bridge this morning. That's the main road from Crimea to Melitopol'. It took some damage, and traffic is being rerouted to the Perekop in NW Crimea- adding about 170 km detour.

Decent start for chopping off Crimean logistics.

Also, the paratroopers from 79th Brigade apparently pushed back the orcs from some positions NE of Mar'yinka. Supposedly they pushed past the 2015 Contact Line, so now they should be within the city line of Donets'k city proper. Though this isn't clear yet.

Would be neat if by the end of the month Donets'k is marked as "contested", b/c UAF end up holding like .0001% of the city's area. But I doubt that.

All kinds of crazy stories going on. Russian aircraft trying to hit Wagner units in Donbas but have missed and hit DPR units (no video confirmation). Spetsnaz units raiding Wagner Centre in St. Petersburg (not according to witnesses). Wagner units already moving and have contacted loved ones to tell them they will be unavailable for the next few days.

Certainly looks like it's going to be an iffy few days in Moscow.

Now it sounds like riot police are showing up at Wagner HQ in Molkino, but the base is locked down by Wagner troops, apparently backed up by the GRU 10th Separate Special Purpose Brigade (Spetsnaz, or Russian Special Forces, reportedly).

If the GRU sides with Wagner, this really will turn into a bloodbath quickly. So far everyone is doing their best to try to talk people off the ledge before this turns violent.

One of the anti-Putin Russian "patriot brigades" raiding Belgorod has praised Priogzhin's moves, called him a patriot and suggested they could offer support under certain circumstances.

Russian tanks, APCs and reserves of troops being deployed around the Kremlin and Duma in Moscow.

Rosvgardia forces from the entire Russian Central District are being mobilised and sent off, presumably towards Moscow or Rostov.

Some reports that Wagner and Rosgvardia units have clashed outside Kozachi Tabory, north of Rostov, and the Rosgvardia units fled.

These reports are all weird though, using identical wording despite coming from different sources, some Russian, some from overseas. It has the feel of a Wagner psy-ops or propaganda exercise.

ETA: Prigozhin has issued a statement saying his forces have indeed crossed the border into Rostov Oblast:

Also, the Internet is apparently going dark across Russia. Local officials are making use of emergency powers to shut down the service.

What could the odds be that this entire lead up to today is actually a highly coordinated event to withdraw completely from Ukraine? Like we need to secure and stabilize our country so all troops must return. A fake out civil war with real fighting doesn’t seem like the most sane face saving strategy with the eyes of the world watching to me. Idk wtf to make of this.

Wagner is occupying Rostov-on-Don, they took the HQ of the Southern Military district, FSB building, Police HQ and Admin buildings.

The southern front is screwed, Rostov controls all logistics.

It’s not a coordinated event to withdraw. That’s the kind of thing you can’t keep hidden for even a weekend: too many moving parts.

I did wonder for a moment reading these news if Prigozhin has got a better offer...he is a mercenary after all. Probably not but it would have been kinda fun if say the CIA asked him what he wanted for a bit of treason, it is why mercenaries had mostly gone out of fashion after all.

At the same time this seems excellent for Ukraine any disturbance behind the line can only benefit them and if this continues a few days then we will probably see interesting things happening.

At the same time this could be the start of the end of Russia / start of civil war which might very well be a very scary proposition.

Man, this weekend I think the whole world will be following the events in Russia. It's so fascinating.

I can't see Wagner and the Cook getting out of this, but supposedly Wagner was being defunded according to some sources - So it was do or die.

What ever happens Ukraine stands to benefit greatly. Here's hoping the dominos start falling but we don't end up with a bunch of Russian kingdoms with A-bombs.

Lukashenko shot out of Belarus like a cork out of the bottle and is reportedly in Turkey. Dozens of oligarchs' private jets are also in the skies, some going to Turkey and some possibly to Israel.

The Russian Air Force is bombing the highway between Moscow and Rostov, which has been cleared of civilian traffic. Wagner has shot down a fighter-bomber of the highway in Voronezh Oblast in response.

Some concern over Russia's tactical nuclear assets near Belgorod and Rostov (the former had to be moved during the raids last month).

Some Wagner units geo-located to Horse-Kolodezsky, which is north of Voronezh city. Wow.

Russia air power bombing Wagner forces on the M-4 highway in the Voronezh region.

Massive dump trucks are lining up on the Moscow ring road, dumping sand and then being used to help block the highway.

They fully expect Wagner to not be stopped short of Moscow and then a fight for the capital. Wagner's column seems to be pretty intact with only a couple of vehicles destroyed in that bombing. The column has quite a few T-90s and T-80s attached to it.

Moscow now on a terror alert.

Wagner forces now geolocated to Yelets, 220 miles south of Moscow.That's a third of the distance from Moscow to Rostov. They are hauling ass to the capital, so to speak. Unless they run into heavy resistance, they should be in Moscow tomorrow, possibly tonight.

Some Russian units appear to be setting up in Tula, which is roughly halfway from Moscow to Yelets, only 100 miles south of the capital.
