I've been flirting with the idea of actually playing this for a while, I'd like to give it a shot if there's still room - or is 6 players the max?

On the basic game I can only run 6 players in Vassal, unless anyone thinks otherwise? There are only 6 colours that represent 12 races but once one colour is picked it discards the opposite race. I am unable to run a bigger game. The interest is there, and if someone wants to run the normal game with expansion then I'll be up for that.

Well see what D'rek says. She mentioned that she might be willing to sit out but that was only because she might not be around much the next couple of weeks. I don't really think it matters if you start in a big game or small one as the fundamentals of each are the same. A larger game has just a other things that flesh out the game a bit more and adds greater variety.

I don't mind stepping out to let Blend play.

Or, we could split it into two games. One of the two we could even try playing using Vassal itself, and anyone who can't run it would just be in the other game. Some people could play both if they really wanted to, as well.

Well as a non Vassal user I unfortunately could only be in the forum version of the game but this sounds reasonable.
