Descriptions of Corlo:

- crimson surcoat, more lightly armored than the rest of his squad
- he is from Unta
- has a beard

Couldn't find more until now. Will have a further look later

Unta? so he's Napan? <_<

I guess I can go with a much less flamboyant kataginu surcoat... should I assume he has brown hair like Surly or black like Shimmer?

No, the inhabitants of Unta don't have blue skin Posted Image

The characters from Unta we know the most about are the Paran Siblings, so based on Ganoes Paran maybe black hair.

According to GotM Paran's ancestors originally came from the east and conquered the land Unta was later founded on. They subjugated the local tribes living there, who were related to the Kanese, so maybe slightly asian facial features are still found in the non-noble population of Unta. Wild guess by myself.

Far Eastern Quon Tali is like Mediterranean Europe to me. Untans are Romans (Grisians are, uh, Grecians). The Parans all have Italian-ish names imo (Ganoes Stabro Paran, Felisin, Tavore -- try them all with an Italian accent!) and Corlo doesn't strike me as any different.

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

That said, Quon Tali is a very deliberate melting pot and it would make sense for this continent to have cities full of what here on Earth we'd still think of as "multiracial".
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Ah I see how that works now, Thanks guys!

There is such a rich blend of cultures on Quon Tali. Shimmer being Napan for example really threw me off. You can never be sure which character hails from which area.

incidentally, far east... does that mean the Parans have some Falari in them or are we talking Kartoolian ancestry?

I'm actually not sure if ICE remembered in the later books that he described Shimmer as Napanese. It doesn't get mentioned once in DL if I remember correctly

In the case of ancestors from the east: Could maybe only mean from Gris, or maybe from the Wickan Plains to the north north east, as they were described as mounted horse warriors. Don't think that they were involved seatravel, due to the horses. Also there is still the possibility that this part of the history of Unta is a remnant from a time when SE and ICE pictured Quon Tali differently. With more land to the east of Unta.

I also like the ideas with the romans a lot. Somehow I never drew the comparison Posted Image

I don't believe so. I usually find 2 other posts by them and +1 both of those posts (first time to negate the -1 and second time to add the positive boost).

Dolmen, I'm perusing them now — incredible stuff! How does this work? You're given a word and you draw something related to that word?

I love Day 3 - Roasted.

You should sell these as prints...

Tomorrow it's Thunder. I'm scratching my head for that one...

As for the prints idea:

Jake Parker, the founder of Inktober encourages participation with a product in mind.

I'm going to create an Artbook and link it to my patreon.

I'll let you guys know once a print quality version is available at full res.

Very nice. Why am I not able to rep your posts? Is it your user group "awaiting moderation"?
